Rise of the Hunter

"Yes" Those were the first words out of my mouth.
"What are you talking about my lady" one of the hunters asks, her eyes glowing with anger. "We do not let Males join our hunt." "That may be so Lucretia, however I believe this one will be different." During the entire exchange I sit looking at them both with confusion. One of the other hunters noticed his discomfort and said " My lady it appears that we have some explaining to do" She says while pointing to me. " Ah yes I apologize for my rudeness." To which the hunters looked at each other in confusion, Artemis never apologizes. "My name is Lady Artemis, and this is my hunt." To which I just looked around in confusion. She sighed and said " You do know about Greek Mythology don't you" I shook my head. "Great, just great. Well you should get some sleep, I shall explain more in the morning." To which I nod and start to close my eyes but not before noticing the glances the hunters are sharing.


The next morning I wake up inside a tent, I start looking around in surprise I thought I was in my home on my bed, then I remember what happened, I start sobbing uncontrollably. The noise is enough to draw Artemis into the tent, she looks at me, then surprises me by hugging me tight, I hug back. She then draws away from me, "What happened?" She asks. I tell her the whole story. At the end of it she looks me in the eyes and says "You have told me your story now I will tell you ours." For the next hour she goes over everything about the hunt, all the stories and all the facts. "I will ask you again. Do you want to be the first male to join the hunt?" She looks at me with no visible emotion. I think about it and I realize that even if I do not except her offer I would have no where to go, no family and no friends so I take the only remaining option. "I except," "Good." Artemis says "Now that you are starting a new life, I feel a new name will be appropriate." I consider her words and decide on a new name for my new life "Jack Hunter that shall be my new identity."

Sorry that this does not have much in it, just the origin, next chapter will skip to when Jack Hunter is 13. Also this story will be following the PJO books so it will start at the titan's curse.
