The last words that Lupa said, left a lingering void around me. In a sudden burst of light, I realized that my spirit was far to tired of being dragged into dreams. It had felt like hours had gone by and I was on the fieldtrip to hell.
I mean, yea that was the case, by being on a rillercoaster ride through dreams was more like a nightmare. Finally, my soul was pulled to the underworld. More specificly, I was in the temple of Pluto. Gazing around, I noticed a gaint statue in the court yard. It held the same look that Nico had given me a few days ago. I could understand why he had hated his father. Being the god of the underworld was no walk in the park and neither was being the son of Pluto.
Taking a stroll through the temple, I remembered the place. It was at the far end of the hall. When I finally made my way to the throne room. I smacked right into a solid wall. The mall was broad and solid, but it was also flexible enough to repell an attack.
After a few minutes, I noticed a head gazing down at me. The man was a giant. He was twenty four feet tall and seemed to be powerful enough to kill me with a flick of his toe. The man interrogated me for a while, then shifted down into a bleak dark aura.
"Welcome child of Rome." The man spoke in a deep and powerful voice. His accent was ancient but held a small hint of modern day mannerisms. He now formed in front of me, to be sporting a red ascot, a completely black tux with a silver dress shirt and a pair of Italian shoes. His hair was trimmed into a frohawk and he even looked to be very lively for the god of the dead.
"I'm here because. . ." Before finishing the god held his hand up silencing me. Amazed, I realized that maybe he was a bit more childish than he appeared.
"I know why you're here. Athos, child of Pluto." The god said. "As, you know I am Pluto, in result you are also my son."
Silence filled the air as, I realized all my suspicions were true. The god of the dead and riches was my father. Smiling, I gazed at him. "You've got a lot of nerve. Why now care? Why not when I was orphaned. Do you know what kind of hell I had to go through? The kind of crap I had to deal with?!"
Pluto stood silent waiting for me to finish. "Are you do?" He said unimpressed. "I actually have never had such a child that was this passionate about a family. But I am truly sorry, you shouldn't have had a life filled with misery. I'm sorry."
Gazing at the man, I wanted to punch him. "Explain to me this. How in the world can I be related to you. I'm not evil. According to logical knowledge you're platrayed as an antagonist to the gods."
"Obviously, you've never paid attention. Greek and Roman Mythology are very similar in various ways. But, they don't always add together. The Greeks came before the Romans, so all the things you believe is Greek based. As a Greek the god of the underworld would be cold and heartless, rarly showing compassion." Pluto explained.
"So Nico?" I wondered.
"You've met your brother." Pluto concluded. "Forgive me. He's held up a nasty attitude for the passed decaded. Nico truly does show hatred nowadays. It's strange because he was a nicer kid when he was ounger, a lot like you in a way. Heroic at times. But not at all as respected as Jason."
"I see." I nodded.
Taking a deep breath, he smiled. "Give me a chance. Finish your quest and then decide to trust me or not. In the end you'll realize I'm not half bad. Promise." With a fracture of a glass, the dream ended and I finally awoke to see Sean and Jasmine cuddling up by the fire.
"Finally!" I yawned, rising to my feet and stretching out my body.
"He's finally up." Jasmine smiled. Pulling away from Sean, she raced over toward me as we began a plan.
