The Demigod Games

Annabeth:
I walked with Percy, drinking from my canteen. We hadn't seen any tributes since the fight at the cornucopia. I had killed one of the tributes myself. Not that I had wanted too. One tribute just stupidly thought to challenge me, but it wasn't a fair match. He was dead in less then a minute. I felt kind of bad, but I was going to live through this, along with Percy. If we made it out of Tartarus alive, this was going to be easy. No one was getting in my way. Not even that bitch Sienna, who thought she could march in and steal every guy.
Despite the fact that Percy continuously denies he likes her, I know he thinks she's pretty. There's no guy that I haven't noticed stare at her for a little too long. Especially the day of the interview. Most of the guys were practically drooling.
I know that Percy loves me and would never leave me, but I can't help but feel hatred and the slightest bit of jealousy towards her. I know that she wouldn't dare make a move on Percy. She's way too taken with her boyfriend Jake to bother. Plus, she knows I'd skin her alive if she did.
I was furious the first day in the training arena when she beat Percy. She was a powerful demigod, and I didn't like the fact that she could beat Percy. That meant she'd be able to beat me in sword fight, but I didn't know how she fought with a dagger or knife
Percy noticed my brooding expression. "What are you thinking about Wise Girl?" He asked, his green eyes sparkling mischievously.
"Nothing." I say.
"Wise Girl not thinking about anything? That's new." He says.
I crack a smile as he pecks my cheek.
I grip my knife in my hand as I hear a scuttle in the trees. I look up and spot a squirrel. I throw my knife and it strikes the animal.
It falls to the ground. "There's your lunch." I say.
Percy grins. "Nice throw. I'm hungry, can we eat yet?" He asks.
"Sure, as long as you prepare it. I'm not touching that thing." I say.
Percy goes over and picks it up. He pretends to toss it to me. I roll my eyes. How could I have fallen for someone so childish?
All of a sudden a shadow passes over both of us. Percy doesn't notice but I do. I turn and see a Cyclops standing behind us, grinning.
From the looks of it, he seems young, not a fully grown.
"Well, I just found my lunch didn't I?" It says.
Percy whirls around clicking Riptide. I grip my dagger in my hand. When Percy and I work together, nothing can get in our way.
"As if." I call out. "You're so sad and small, we wouldn't have to lift a pinkie to kill you."
The Cyclops frowns. "How dare you insult me."
I meet Percy's eyes. He understands what I'm doing and he starts to inch away slowly.
"Well, you're pretty stupid. You know, I bet I could get you to kill yourself!" I taunt.
The Cyclops roars. I look around for Percy and he's behind the the Cyclops.
"I am not stupid or small! You will die now!" The Cyclops roars.
I nod at Percy. Percy and I both lunge in, taking the Cyclops off guard. Percy slashes with his sword and I stab with my dagger. Soon the Cyclops explodes into dust.
I hop up, brushing off the dirt. I tie my hair back into a messy bun.
I strap my knife onto my arm and Percy places Riptide in his pocket. He grabs my hand and off we go.
