The Demigod Games

Chapter 31:
Sienna:
I groan as I wake up. Jake still has his arm around me, and I nudge him awake. He begins to stir as I poke his arm.
"Jake come on. Today could be our last day in the arena." I whisper, trying to rub the sleep from my eyes.
"Hmm?" Jake mumbles still half asleep. The light enters the cave slightly, still leaving some corners cloaked in darkness.
"Jake. Wake up." I say poking him harder.
"I'm up, I'm up." He says finally sitting up. "Sorry, I'm just exhausted."
"Yeah, I know. But if we want it to be our last day in this arena, we have to start looking for Percy and Annabeth." I remind him.
He yawns. "Yeah. Come on, lets go find some berries to eat, and then we can begin to look for them." He stands, pulling me up with him. He wraps his arms around me. "This could be our last day in this hell hole." He whispers, nuzzling my neck.
I nod kissing his cheek.
"Where do you think they are going to be? Or more accurately, where do you think the Gods are going to want the last battle happen?" He asks me.
"Simple." I say. "They are going to want a field with open space, the easiest place to get clean shots to broadcast everything."
"The cornucopia." Jake guesses.
I nod. "Yeah. We better get food before we get moving. If we want to win this thing, we need to be at top strength."


Percy:
Annabeth grabs my hand as she climbs out of the tree we had been sleeping in. Once Annabeth is on the ground, I pick up the backpacks.
"Uh, Wise Girl, I think we need to hunt for food." I say, peering into the backpacks.
"We can't hunt for animals. We have no time to make a fire. Just look for some berries." She instructs.
"Sure. So after we eat, are we going to go after Sienna and Jake?" I ask.
"Yeah. We are going to have to find them before they find us. Personally, I think that the Gods are going to want space for the last battle to be broadcasted. So I guess we have to go to the cornucopia." She responds absently running her hand through her hair.
I nod. I absolutely hated the thought of killing half-bloods, but it was my only option. Either Annabeth, or Sienna and Jake. It was pretty obvious as to who I was going to choose.
Annabeth leads the way as we begin to look for berry bushes. Once we find berries and we each eat our fill, I look up at Annabeth.
She notices me staring and gives me a questioning look.
"What are we going to do if we win this thing? How are we going to deal with the fact that we murdered kids?" I ask.
Annabeth looks down. "I don't know." She says softly. When she looks up at me, I see a single tear rolling down her cheek.
I wipe it away. "Don't cry." I murmur as I pull her into my arms. She buries her head into my shoulder and starts crying.
"I've killed so many monsters. But know, I've started killing kids. I didn't want to. I've been acting so bloodthirsty since we got here, but I never wanted to be. I just want to have peace. To get out of this alive. After all we've been through, after we killed Gaea, they still threw us in here, to murder other demigods, and to possibly get killed. It's so unfair." Annabeth sobs.
"I know, Wise Girl, I know." I whisper softly, kissing her cheek. Annabeth wipes her face and stands. She pulls me up and kisses me softly.
"Come on. We have to go." Annabeth says. I nod silently and and I grab her hand as we make our way to our possible death.



Jake:
Sienna and I stumble around the forest, not knowing which way the cornucopia is.
"How the heck are we supposed to go to the cornucopia when we have no way to know how to get there?" I ask impatiently.
"I don't know. Leave it up to the Gods. I'm done searching." Sienna grumbles plopping down next to a tree. I sit down next to her. I wipe a bead of sweat from my forehead.
A little while later, I'm starting to dose off, when I hear a weird noise, between a snort and a moo.
Sienna sits up, closing her eyes. "Shit." She mumbles.
We both turn to see a minotaur towering over us, and it lets out an earth shaking roar. We both slowly stand up, and we begin to run.



Annabeth:
I pull Percy along, as the minotaur comes charging after us. I refuse to let Percy stop and fight, even though he has beat the minotaur twice before.
"Let....me.....fight....it." Percy wheezes as we run.
"No! It'll chase us to Jake and Sienna." I snap as I leap over a log. Percy rolls his eyes in exasperation but we continue running through the forest, the minotaur chasing us. All of a sudden, I see the golden glint of the cornucopia ahead. I sprint to the clearing, pulling Percy with me. The minotaur slams into an invisible barrier, roaring in anger and frustration.
"Told you." I say to Percy.
But Percy isn't paying attention to me. His attention is directed across the clearing to two other people who are staring back at us.
I swallow nervously. Percy takes my hand and squeezes it comfortingly. But his face is a mask of slight fear and worry. I take a deep breath and squeeze back.
I take off in a run with Percy at my side, making my way towards Sienna and Jake, who are running towards us.
I rip my knife out of its sheath.
This is it.

Yah after forever and a year I posted. But before you guys start yelling at me, I have an explanation. My email was hacked and shiz and it took forever to sort out. And once I got it back, it took me forever to be able to acess my account on this thing, cuz my email was refusing to connect. But its working now. No that I'm outta school I'll be posting more.
