Youth

03.

Nathan was over walking. He had been walking so long he was actually beginning to hate being a demigod, as Elizabeth said. They had been walking until they reached a small shop downtown.

Gazing at the shop he smiled. "You do know, we could've just gone to the apple store near my house. It was closer to the school anyways." Nathan replied.

Glancing back she smirked. "There's a person I need to talk to, and she works here." Walking in she sighed and shook her head dejectedly almost like he had said something stupid.

Once inside, Elizabeth made her way towards a girl with autumn brown hair tied back into a pony tail. Her eyes were sparkly blue and she wore an apple tee shirt along with denims and a pair of the famous fashion boots. She wore glasses which made her look a bit geeky.

"Lizzy!" The girl screeched, as she quickly grasped Elizabeth and hugged her. Excited and full of pepp, she let her go and looked at her. "What brings you here? Don't tell me you're being chased by monsters again?"

"Well," Elizabeth's voice peaked. "There's that, and the fact that I need your expertese in this." Pulling out a cylinder like container, she twisted the nob to have a hologram leak out.

"That!" The mystery girl said in awe. Gazing at her, Nathan wondered what exactly this girl would accomplish. Taking a deep breath, he cleared his throat causing their attention to be drawn.

"Can you be more up front and at least introduce yourself?" He asked.
"And who is the kid?" The mystery girl asked.

Elizabeth smiled, faintly but it was still there. "Nathan this is Aia, she's a daughter of Hephaestus and a keen specialist in inovation and merchandising."

Rolling his eye, Nathan smirked. "More like a sales-clerk if you ask me."
"What was that?!" Aia cried a bit irritated. Holding her back, Elizabeth tried calming her down. "Don't worry about him, he's just cranky because he can't handle being a demigod."

Annoyed, Nathan remained silent, suffering silently. "No, please tell me more about this creature. You looked at it as if you knew about it." Elizabeth replied.

"It's because I do." Aia replied. "It's called a shadow-demon. It's a type of shade, but more deadly- like a hellhound except they aren't native to the underworld alone."

"What do you mean?"

"This type of creature is one that lives in Tartarus." Aia sighed.

Paying attention,Nathan gazed at her intently. "Tartarus, what is that?" He asked. "In the stories, I've seen Tartarus was never referenced in. Hercules didn't go to Tartarus did he?"

"Not in the myths that I've read." Aia replied. "But, Tartarus can be defined as one of two things. A layer of underground temples within the Underworld, it doubles as the lower part of the Underworld and the embodiment of the personification of the abyss."

"Have you ever been there?" Nathan wondered.
"No." Elizabeth replied. "For demigods it's nearly impossible to get out of Tartarus once your in. It's so dangerous down there that even the god of death, Thanatos doesn't set foot in there."

"Why?" Aia wondered.
"Because, I've been having a dream about me nearly falling into a river in Tartarus, but every time, a mysterious man saves me and warns me to stay away from the waters of Tartarus."

Elizabeth and Aia exchanged a hesitant look as if wondering what to do. "Take him to camp. Warn Chiron and make sure, he is claimed by the end of the day. If he is what he thinks he is, you're doomed, all of you are."

Nodding, Elizabeth grabbed my arm and hulled me away once more.

Notes
