Youth
04.
After the apple store, Nathan had a four hour walk towards Long Island. Throughout this time, he had gotten to know more about Elizabeth and her mortal life. Her father was a professor in Harvord and she had a half-brother along with a horrible step mother. Classic fairytale come true.
He told her about his mom, and all the bits and peices of information he learned about his father. Glancing at her, he wondered if all demigods had parent issues.
Walking through a forest, they stopped. Intrigued, Nathan noticed a figure grazed through the open trees in the distance.
"What?" Elizabeth asked.
Curious to what had passed his attention, Nathan smiled. "I'll be back."
He grazed through the trees, continuing the ginger smell of the figure. Approaching a tall tree, he smiled. Carefully he closed in to the tree. In a breath of fresh mint air, the figure solidified until, it was a beautiful girl. She was naked, but Nathan didn't mind, he cared more about her eyes.
Her soft amber brown eyes were gorgeous but her tender and flushed skin made me even more intriuged. Imbarrased, she backed away, slowly camoflouging her upper torso into the trunk of her tree.
"You're beautiful." He smiled, carefully holding out his hand waiting for her to grasp it. "What's you're name?"
"Talia" She replied, a bit intriuged. "I'm a dryaid. A wooden nymph of the forest. Unlike most nymphs who gaurd one single tree, I gaurd all tress with in this Long Island area, I'm the keeper of the trees."
Gazing at her, Nathan smiled. "Keeper of the trees? I've heard about that, it was a Dr Seuss story." He replied. "Anyways, my name is Nathan."
"Eww!" She cried. "That's a horrible name. How about Kevin. See that is a nice name."
"Kevin?" Nathan replied with a confused smile.
"Simon?"
"Nah."
Taking a minute, Talia thought for a second, "How about Nate?" She replied. "It's a better way of saying Nathan, don't cha think?" Her smile was amazing, it left a faint feeling of admoration and pride. Gazing at her, Nathan wondered about the name. He had never had someone that called him Nate besides his mom.
"Nate." He nodded. "Call me Nate."
Shrieking in joy, she hugged him. A bit imbarrased at the fact that she was naked, Nathan kept his arms open and held a shocked yet flushed look on his face. After she broke apart, she rose as a wave of leaves danced around her. In a swirl of sunlight and radiance, she was sporting a sleek dress made out of grass and leaves. Her scarlet hair was long and free, and she looked as beautiful as a autumn tree budding in the bloom of september.
"Alright." She smiled a bit proud of herself. "From now on, Nate you're my special friend. I won't talk with those Saytrs like I do to you." With a wink, she vanished.
Strangely enough, Nathan felt a yurning of some kind, almost like he missee her already. Taking a deep breath, he began to race back toward Elizabeth.
