Catherine's story

I'm holding my breath, Nessie drags me into an under water cave, and drops me on a ledge above the water. I turn around and angrily face the sea serpent.

"Okay, explanations. NOW!!" I yell, starting to lose my temper.

"Oh, don't yell at him- I don't think he likes it," a man says.

I turn around to see a man in a blue Hawaiian vacation shirt and a pair of swim shorts sitting on a rock behind me.

"And who are you?" I demand, still angry.

"Apologies for the serpent, I had a talk with Sally about girls, and she said you'd prefer me to claim you... how did she put it? Not in front of everyone. Sooo... here we are," he said arms out.

And I fold mine.

"Okay... claiming demigods- so I'm assuming you're my dad?" I say remembering my greek mythology class earlier today. "and how am I not freezing- I mean, it's freezing out!" I say, and he holds up his hands

"Holy Hera, Sally wasn't kidding. Okay, yes I am your father, and Cat, I'm Poseidon- the greek god. The reason you're not freezing from the water is that you can't be touched by water- unless, of course, you want to," he says, grinning.

"Okay. Thanks for not claiming me in front of every one... Dad," I say, awkwardly.

"Oh- one more thing," he says, and brings up... an egg, and hands it to me. It rocks from side to side in my open palms. It cracks, then a piece of its shell pops off, followed by many more cracks. This continues until all I have in my hand is eggshell and a mini blue sea serpent, which wraps around my wrist like a bracelet.

I look up to say thank you, but Poseidon and the large sea serpent are gone.

"Great. How do I get back up there?" I mutter, and the sea serpents head looks up and its scales on top turn bright blue. A blast of water shoots out of its mouth and I'm shot out of the water.

I land by Percy, who looks shocked- probably because I have water swarming around me.

(if you ever seen the legend of korra or one of the avatar TV shows you know what i mean.)

The sea serpent slowly sets me down on the dock, and Percy runs up to me.

"What happened?" he asks.

"Umm... I... got... claimed?" I say, sounding more like a question than an answer. I look him in the eyes.

"I am the daughter of Poseidon."
