Summary
I knew going to the club was a bad idea, but of course Piper was very convincing & Leo really wanted to go. This was my first time spending time with them without Annabeth, Jason, Hazel, or Frank. Piper and Leo offered to join me on my trip to visit my mom because they had never seen NYC before. After spending some time with my mom back at her Apartment I took them around the city until Leo spotted the club, Pandemonium. Leo told us their was some sort of essence in the club, i could feel it too. None of us knew what it meant, but they wanted to check it out. Plus me and Piper thought it would be a good chance to find Leo a girl. He's been lonely. He deserves better, and seeing Hazel all the time isn't making things better.
When we approached the bouncer he was quick to tell us no, but Piper wasn't the only one who could persuade people. I shot the bouncer my stare. A stare i've learned over the years. No human could stand unintimidated, it made them feel uncomfortable, which is why i felt uncomfortable when he stared right back at me and told me "I said no. Now beat it kid." Then I wound up to prepare to punch him, but he interuppted me. "Those tattoos?"
"Not the type normal people are used too." I replied. Then he looked almost embarressed and stepped aside to let us in.
"Oh, come right in, my bad."
When we got in the room was crowded with freaks. They all danced on each other leaving hardly any space to squeeze through the crowd. But then again, who are we to call people freaks. We're Demigods, the half breed of Humans and Gods. At least we don't do, whatever this is they are doing, though.
"Umm, so what now?" Piper said.
"Lets party!" Leo said with a huge smile on his face then ran off and i lost him in the crowd.
"Leo! Oh, well we can just let him have his fun." Piper turned to me. "Should we check the bar Percy?"
I know i have a girlfriend, and i love her, but Piper still made me feel uncomfortable. It wasn't either of our faults. She was a daughter of Aphrodite, making her naturally as well as magically beautiful and very persuasive. The way she looked at me, it made me want to get closer to her. I wanted to hold her close. I wanted to -
I snapped out of it. The way i was feeling was just a trans. None of those feelings were real. I needed to focus on the club. I told her it was a good idea and we went over to the bar and sat down.
"So how are you and Annabeth?" Piper asked me.
"Good, you and Jason?"
"Ok."
"Why just ok?"
She got sort of embaressed then said, "we're demigods, are things ever actually 'good' for us."
"Good point." She laughed. Then the bar tender approached us and looked at my arm too.
"Ahh, so what brings a shadow hunter over here tonight?" He asked me.
"What are you talking about?"
"Its ok dude. I can sense your magic, I'm a werewolf."
At that moment i took out my magic pen, Riptide, and held it in my hand cautiously.
"I dont know what a shadow hunter is, i don't know how you know about magic or my tattoos, but im gonna find out."
"Percy!" Leo cried out from the crowd.
"Lets go!" Piper grabbed my hand and we ran around the crowd toward the scream. I saw a couple tall people dressed in robes covering them, walk into a door leading to the back.
"Over there!" I pointed with my other hand, i didnt even realize me and Piper were still holding hands. I pulled away awkwardly and told her, "C'mon." When we got inside we saw Leo being held against his will by more freaks.
I clicked Riptide, as it turned into my magic celestial bronze sword.
"Let my friend go!" I yelled at them. Piper took out her dagger and yelled at them too. Their hoods were down now and they turned to me. 4 teenagers, probably no much older than i am. 2 boys one with short straight black hair the other long flowing and golden. The first girl was tall with black hair. The other. I stopped thinking when i saw her. She was... She was beautiful. I had no other way to describe her. Catching me off guard, the tall girl hit my sword with her whip and snatched it out my hand. She threw it behind some boxes.
The beautiful girl spoke, "C'mon girl, put down the dagger, you really think your gonna fight us with that?"
Piper dropped it willingly then started fake crying using her "Charm Speaking" to persuade them to do the same. "Please let my friend go, i would be devestated if anything happened to him, please just drop your weapons. We can be friends." Then piper shot them a wink. The boys and the tall girl dropped their weapons.
The tall girl said, "Did i just get seduced by a girl?"
Before they could pick up their weapons i charged the black haired boy and took out Riptide again which magically re-appeared in my pocket and held him at sword point. "Now, i will ask one more time nicely, let Leo go."
The beautiful girl, the only one who didnt drop her weapon held Leo at knife point.
"I dont know what you are, but i had to protect people from this elf or whatever this monster is."
"Who you calling elf, you hobbit!" Leo said to the beautiful girl in the idea of her being short.
I pushed the boy away and threw my sword away behind the boxes again, "Wait, are you shadow hunters? I dont know what you are, but we aren't monsters, we are Demi-gods."
"Alec? Do you know what they are talking about." The beautiful girl asked.
The black haired boy named Alec replied, "I've heard stories, myths, legends. Saying that their are monsters and things in this world we arent even aware of. That all those ancient myths we never pay attention about in history class, are real. Greek, Roman, Egyptian, all of them. I heard stories that people met 'Demigods' from the myths and they saved them from vampires, but i didnt believe them. Let the latino elf go Clary."
Clary, the beautiful girl, dragged Leo over to us. "Nice tattoos." She said.
"Why do people keep telling me about my tattoos?"
"Because. They think your one of us, a Shadow Hunter." The blonde boy said walking over here.
"Well i'm not. I dont hunt down innocent people and try and kill them."
"But you do kill monsters?" Alec said.
"Yes, but only because they are always trying to kill us."
"Well then we arent much different after all." The blonde boy said. "Im Jace, we are going to have to politely ask you to come with us, we will talk more back at the insitute"
