The First Daughter

What?

Chapter 29:

“Welcome Heroes.” Hazel said.

“Hazel!” Frank called out, “You’re under a spell!”

Hazel didn’t respond but let out a lot of air from her nose, she took a long narrowed gaze at all of us; me last.

“You are all “the spell” my friends; the overthrowing of the Olympians will be the greatest liberation in history!”

“Liberation?” Reyna repeated.

“Liberation requires slavery or bondage.” Annabeth finished.

Hazel said nothing in reply and just glared at Annabeth.
I took matters into my own hands and drew my bow and let loose an arrow firing for her head. I hear the arrow wiz but something shiny in the wall behind Hazel shook and suddenly stood in front of Hazel stopping the arrow.

I gasped standing back as did everyone else as a completely solid gold, ruby, and emeralds melded together that created a living something that was blinding to the eye.
“What are those things?!” I yelled.

Hazel stepped forward and touched the disfigured head of the gold warrior,
“Pluto controls all things underground right?” Hazel chuckled, “I’ll call them, Golems.”

“Plural?” Annabeth asked herself.

“Let Percy go Hazel, and we’ll help you in any way we can.” Reyna proposed.

“Besides,” Leo interjected, “There’s like,” Leo looked around and counted us quickly, “Nine of us and two of you.”

The cavern shook again, and Hazel smiled a crooked smile as more golems like the first were birthed from the walls around us; now we were surrounded.

Hazel chuckled quietly, “Enjoy!” and she melted into the shadows and disappeared.

The golems attacked everyone, and all I could think about was trying to get out of there alive: All I could use was my hunting knife so I wouldn’t accidently shoot somebody in this close space, with bodies moving so quickly. I quickly sheathed my knife and jabbed at the golem that was closest to me and the knife hit the metal and nearly sprained my wrist as it twisted it when the blade hit the gold, and the side of my hand dared to slam into a facet of an emerald that jutted out of the shoulder of the golem. I cried out and dropped my knife and held my hand as I felt the blood in it forming a bruise already, pulsing painfully.

I groan and look up as the mindless golem raises his molten fist high to slam against my body and I quickly jump to the side as the momentum of his fist came down. I felt the earth shake behind me and I crouched down and looked around at the situation. I rolled my shoulders and saw that everyone was busy fighting off golems and poor Percy was still tied up and dangling on his stomach. I looked to my sides and found my knife again from the corner of my eye and the golem next to it seeming to pause a long time to maybe catch up with itself. I warily inched closer and with my foot I moved my knife closer to me and bent down and picked it up as the golem seemed to wake up and turned it’s tiny head with mismatching ruby and emerald eyes; it was kinda creepy.

I quickly jumped and ran for Percy as the golem followed behind me. I came up and Percy chuckled breathlessly,
“Finally! I think I’m getting a headache from all the blood rushing to my brain.”

“If you had a brain.” A voice said. I turned and saw Annabeth jogging to us as I was sawing the rope; She didn’t say anything but smiled at Percy and steadied him so when the rope was cut, Percy wouldn’t fall on his face.

I grunted and cut the last thread and Percy fell into Annabeth’s arms. As they were having a moment I shouted, “LET’S GET OUT OF HERE!” I kicked the golem in front of me and it ambled out of my way; I ran down the corridor again leading everyone else to follow me. I led everyone down by the river to get away from the golems following rather slowly behind us. I stopped at the wall and looked up at it’s never endingness.

“I can fly us up there.” Jason suggested. I looked up over the hills and saw the golems picking up speed,
“No good.” I replied, “It takes forever to get up there and we’ll be overrun by golems.”

“And we are not leaving without Hazel.” Frank stated.

“Frank, we have no choice,” Reyna replied, “We need to go home and regroup.”

“No.” He replied, “I’m not leaving without Hazel.”

“Somebody say my name?” Hazel jumped from the shadows and struck Frank on the side of his neck and Frank quickly fell to the ground. Then Hazel leapt to Reyna and tried to pound Reyna to the floor. We all came to help Reyna and subdue Hazel but when I moved forward metal clamps came around my forearms and picked me up from the ground.

“What the Heck?!” I squealed. Everyone else uttered their angry words or something against the situation. Hazel somehow managed to get the upper hand and used both of her hands to push Reyna into the arms of another golem.

"Where do these things come from?!” Reyna yelled.
Hazel straightened herself and turned to her family of golems, "The Master wants them with him this time."

"WHO IS THIS MASTER?!" I shouted.

Hazel didn't answer and turned to the golems, and with a silent command the golems linked together while still holding us captive the one closest to Hazel, (whom by the way had Frank trapped in it's metal arms), and Hazel got sucked into the corner and the golems one-by-one followed behind, me being last. At first the sensation was like being sucked in through a straw and compressed into a tube, but soon it felt like ice crept through my flesh and somehow gave me this serious migraine that stunted all my thoughts and processes in my head. I felt like I was slowed down immensely while everything else was moving in front of me soo fast. All my body and mind functions were put to a halt, my head throbbed and my heart come to a slow beat that only rang in my ears. I screamed but the scream I had intended was to be at the top of my lungs but it was only a muffled yell into the distance; All I wanted at that point was to die.

But soon I felt this sudden jerk that nearly threw my soul out of my body, and I tumbled by myself onto an asphalt road and my body slammed against another body and I heard Darren's voice groan against my ear. My head still hurt and the ice feeling quickly changed into a searing heat that I could hardly stand; I thought it was probably because of the tempature difference from the cold and to now where I was.

I rolled my eyes open and put my hands against the asphalt road and weakly pushed myself up. I looked up; and saw a figure with dark hair and dark eyes, then wore all black on top of that with an exception of an aviator jacket. I blinked slowly as I felt this extreme nausea rise in my throat, my head dropped for a second then I looked back up. My vision was blurry but I could make out enough: he just stood over me like I was a peasant bowing to a King, I was afriad.

"N-Nico?"
