Starting Over

I don't know what really happened, all I remember is running for the woods then hearing sirens and running back to the aquarium. I got there in time to see Tyler unconscious on a stretcher going in an ambulance. I was frozen for a moment. "TYLER!" I ran past the crowd and the paramedics. His eyes were shut and he was breathing lightly. I was shaking him as hard as I could. "You can't die. Please!" He wasn't waking. I began to pound on his chest. "TYLER, WAKE UP!...please...Tyler.....PLEASE!" I felt someone pull me away just as I began to cry. I turned around to see it was Dad. "Daddy, what happened?" He picked me up and I cried into his shoulder. "He's going to a hospital run by demigods. It's the best place for him now. You need to go to-" "I want to go with Tyler," I whined. "Sweetie, its safe for you at camp. I know you love your brother, but you have to go to camp. I know that's what Tyler wants you to do." I was just crying harder and harder.

We walked over to where Dad's car was, which was a red jeep today, and got in. We drove in silence for a while until Dad broke the silence. "So Rachel? Annabeth? How are things?" "I'm fine, Percy and I are doing well." "That's good." "Besides being kidnapped, I'm good. By the way, it's nice to meet you Fiona." I turned to face her and really noticed what she looked like for the first time. She had red curly hair and green eyes. Her freckles reminded me of the spots on cheese pizza. Her clothes had paint stains on them. "Nice to meet you, too." "How old are you?" "I'm seven and Tyler is-" I was so use to Tyler being there that I almost forgot that I didn't have to tell her how old he is. She just nodded. I turned to talk to Annabeth who told her all about my adventures at camp. I just looked out the window and counted all of the trees I saw.


It took us a long time(four hours) to get back to camp. When we pulled up, Dad hugged my shoulders. "Be safe, kiddo." He got into his red sports car(I guess it changed when we weren't looking) and drove off. I climbed the hill with Sunny nudging at my sides, he was already missing Tyler just like me. Percy, Leo, Nico, Calypso and Chiron were waiting for us at the border. "Annabeth!" Percy gave her a really big hug, but I still couldn't smile, before he noticed Rachel. "Hey Rachel, what's going on?" "Oh the usual. Chilling with my dad, being kidnapped by empousai, Iris messaging a prophecy, getting a ride from Apollo." The all laughed. Should I of been happy? Nico was the first to realize I wasn't happy. "Fiona, where's Tyler?" Everyone just looked at me and I broke out into a run. I ran all the way to my cabin and managed to run into Brandon, literally. "Hey Fiona! How was your-" I ran past him and into the cabin. I crashed onto Tyler's bed and Sunny crawled next to me. I laid there until I felt sleepy. I changed into my pajamas and got back into his bed. Hours passed until I herd my brothers and sisters come in.

"Aw, this is the saddest and cutest thing ever." "You sound like an Aphrodite kid." "Whatever. Should we wake her and put her in her bed?" "No. She'll be fine." "I hope so. Poor kid, loosing her brother like that." "He's not dead you idiot!" "As far as we know, he's not." "Why would you say that!" "Be reasonable, the guy took on the power of the sun. The mere fact that he didn't burn up turn to dust." "Your acting like he's not our brother too. How can you be so cold?" "For the love of the gods, you know just as well as I do he's probably dead." "According to Annabeth, he was alive when they left." "Ask her if she thinks he's alive." "You are a complete as-" "Carl, shut the Hades up. Amber stop yelling, you'll wake her. Marry, get her clothes ready for tomorrow." There was a little bit of commotion but things soon died down. I cried a little bit before I went to sleep. I missed my brother.

I finished lunch and went to wander around camp with Sunny. It's been a month since I got back from my quest and I still haven't herd a thing about Tyler. I've spent twenty-five gold drachmas on Iris messages, none of them got through. It was the beginning of October so not to many kids where at camp, in fact the only Apollo kids at camp where Brandon, Marry, Amber and Carl. I went to the shooting range and shoot a couple of bulls eyes. Sunny barked every time I made one. He walked over to me and sat on his hind legs and put his paws in the air in begging position. I smiled and petted him. "I didn't know dogs had ADHD. Come on boy." We walked over to the river and sat there, I cried here every day since I got back. "Mind a little company?" I wiped my eyes and turned to face Calypso. "Not at all." She sat nest to me and handed me a hoodie that was orange and said Camp Half-Blood on it. "Thank you." I put it on over my shirt.

"No problem. That's Leo's gift to you." "I'll assume you supervised?" "You know it! Oh, and here's my gift." She handed me a gift box with a pretty bow on it. When I opened it, my old teddy bear was in it. It was plush and had a terribly stitched heart in it with my initials in the center. It was the gift Tyler gave me for my fifth birthday, he had stitched the heart and my initials himself. He though I would laugh at his terrible job, but the fact that he did it himself is what made it so special. I lost it when we ran away. I just held it in my hands for a while until Calypso began to talk again. "It's pretty easy to use magic and look into someone's past. When I saw the bear, I decided to get it. I thought it would make you feel better." "Thank you. Calypso? Do you think you could use your magic to get a hold of Tyler? I've tried to Iris message him, but it never goes through." She gave a heavy sigh. "I've tried myself actually, but there is some heavy magic at play. No one can seem to get through to him." "What do you mean you've already tried?" She gave a heavy sigh.

"Ever since you got back, we've all noticed the change. You stopped smiling and you barley ate. The light in your eyes, it died. All of us thought that if you could see your brother, know that he was okay, you would be okay. I don't know what's blocking us, but I sense that it's strong magic. We just want to make sure you're okay." I just stared at her. "Tyler has taken care of me before I could crawl. He's always been there for me and the one time I could of actually done something to help, I didn't do anything and now he's gone. I lost my brother and it's all of my fault!" I began to cry for the first time in a month. I tried not to cry because the only person who could calm me down was Tyler. Calypso tried, but I couldn't calm down which just made me cry harder. After a while she just picked me up and carried me.

"What happened?" I herd Grover's voice. "She started crying and hasn't stopped for an hour. Help. Me. Please." Some one took me and I could tell it was Leo, he was mumbling things about machines and gadgets. "Leo, she's a child of Apollo," I herd Annabeth say. "I don't think she's going to understand what your saying." "Well, what do you want me to do? I can't sing." I began to cry harder which lead to Grover to snap at Leo. "Way to go, now look at what you've done." "Why don't you use one of your pipe song charms?" "It only works on wild animals." "She's a little girl, close enough right?" "LEO!" "What?" "Put her down!" He gently placed me on the floor and I cried even harder. Grover began to talk. "Fiona, come on calm down. Please?"

"I want my brother," I whined. "We all miss Tyler, but we have to be patient. We-" "NONE OF YOU GET IT!" I screamed. I got up and broke out in a run. I ran until I reached the woods, and I did not stop for a long time. I was really deep in the woods. "WOOF!" I saw that Sunny was right behind me. I hugged him and sat in the woods for a long time. "Fiona!" It was Percy. Then I saw Grover. "Percy, she's over here!" Percy ran over and looked relieved. "You scared us! We've looked all over for you." "I'm sorry." Both of them sat down next to me and Grover began to talk. "We all miss him. It's going to be okay." "Grover's right. I know you're upset, but holding everything back isn't going to help." "I'm sorry." "Hey, where are you guys?" "Over here Nico!" Nico popped out from behind one of the trees.

"Hey Nico." "Hey, Annabeth told me what happened. Are you okay?" I was hugging my knees. "No." No one said anything. They just took me back to camp where I got cleaned up for dinner. It was Friday so mostly everyone was getting ready for capture the flag except for the Aphrodite cabin. I decided, again, to just hang out with them until the game ended. They didn't pay me any attention so I just played with Heart(my teddy bear's name) and Sunny. I guess Nico didn't play either because he sat next to me. "Nice bear." "Tyler gave it to me when I was five. Calypso used some magic to find it." I hugged Heart. "You really miss him, huh?" "Yes. I'm sad." Nico sat with me until the game was over and it was time for the campfire, he even played with Heart for a while.
