Starting Over

Did I say something bad or is there something in my teeth? I haven't been able to say anything right since I've gotten to camp. "Did I say something bad?" Nico was angry and he began to snap at me. "My sister has been dead for years! She decided to be reincarnated, she wouldn't remember me let alone be able to pass on a message!" "I'm sorry." Nico pointed to Annabeth and Percy. "Is this some kind of joke?" Percy looked at Annabeth, then Annabeth said, "Nico, we didn't even tell her about Bianca." I felt about five inches tall, I didn't mean to start anything. Bianca was the only girl at my school who would talk to me. She would tell me stories of heroes and myths of ancient Greece all of the time. That was the only reason I would go to school. I couldn't wait for the brief half hour of lunch to listen to Bianca's tales of Greek adventures. I remember the last time I saw Bianca: she was telling me about Elysium and how heroes go there to finally rest. That's when I remembered something. I reached into my pocket and unfolded an envelope. Bianca had given it to me along with the message for Nico.

I gave the envelope to Nico. "What is-" I took off running before he could say anything more. I ran straight for Chiron. I found him outside the infirmary talking to some kid. I waited until the kid left before I ran up to him. He smiled and said, "Fiona, just the girl I was about to look for. I herd about what happened with John and Matt." "Chiron, I'm so sorry. I was mad and I herd a voice and then we were running before I knew it and I am so sorry." Chiron just looked at me. "You said you herd a voice?" "Yea, it was telling me to show those kids that Apollo was my father." "You know Fiona, sometimes gods communicate with their children. Your father was probably talking to you then. I was actually talking to Brandon earlier. I think you should talk to him soon." "Okay. Um, Chiron?" "Yes Fiona?" "Will I get in trouble for shooting my arrows at those boys?" Chiron chuckled and had a very large grin on his face. "Fiona, those two needed to get some sense knocked into them, even if a shy seven year old had to do it."
************************************************************************************************************ I spent the next couple of hours shooting arrows at targets. My quiver seemed to refill itself and I didn't notice that until Calypso pointed it out. Actually, I barely noticed Calypso said anything. "Oh! Hi Calypso, how long have you been here?" "A couple of minuets. I thought I would be the one to come and talk to you." I lowered my bow and plopped down on the ground. Calypso sat next to me. She had on a camp shirt and jeans. Her hands were covered in dirt like she was planting a garden. "You gave everyone a scare. If Chiron hadn't told Tyler that he had seen you, gods it would of been world war three. Nico would of come but he isn't very well with these kinds of thing." "Why would Nico want to talk to me? He probably wants to send me to-" I almost said the closet. Mother would lock us in there when we were bad. "-to, um, Mr.D and have him punish me."

"Honey, Nico isn't mad at you the least! That letter you gave him explained everything. When Bianca decided to choose rebirth, Hades himself came to her. He gave her memory back and even set her at her correct age. She even decided to rejoin the hunters. Artemis let Bianca stay at your school for a long time so Bianca could keep an eye on you. Oh, you probably don't understand half of what I'm saying do you?" "Not really." "Sorry, it took me a while to understand everything myself. Would you like for me to explain everything?" "Yes please." And for the next half hour Calypso told me about the story of the Second Titan War and The War with Gaea. It was nice to know everyone lived after the war and that they finally had time to fix New Rome. I really wanted to meet the rest of them. Especially Frank; because, if he was as nice as Calypso made him out to be I would ask him to turn into a bunny rabbit so I could cuddle him.

I guess I had said that last part out loud because Calypso was laughing. "Don't worry, if I have too, I'll put a spell on him so he will." I just giggled and saw that she was staring at me with a smile. "What?" "Nothing. It's just that it's amazing how you went from being so sad to brave to angry to happy to sad again to happy again. You're very emotional for someone so young." "Sorry." "Fiona, you don't need to apologize for that. You're a little girl and I'm pretty sure you've been through a lot. Just know that things are going to get better." "Calypso? You're not putting a spell on me to make me feel better right?" She laughed, "Just because I have magical powers doesn't mean I use them all of the time." "So, no spell?" "No spell, promise." I herd loud footsteps and turned around to see Leo. Calypso got up and he whispered something to her. She pointed to me and Leo began to blush, so I covered my eyes. After a few moments Leo said, "It's okay Fiona, you can look now." I uncovered my eyes and saw that they were blushing. I tried not to giggle, but it was to no avail.

"Come on Fiona, It's dinner time and Tyler is told me to go and get you two." I took one of Leo's hands and Calypso took his other hand. We walked to the dinning pavilion to where everyone else was. Nico noticed me first and I swear I saw him blush a little. "Fiona, um, about the letter-" "Your welcome Nico. I hope you two can re-unit-ite one day." Tyler was hugging me at this point. He bent down to me and gently said, "Fiona, the word is reunite." "Oh, well I tried. I'm hungry, lets eat!" With that, we all went to go and eat. I was halfway through a plate of macaroni and cheese when I saw Nico. He was at his table alone(being an only child was tough I guessed) with half a pomegranate on a plate. He was still looking at the letter that I had given him from Bianca. I grabbed my plate and walk over to sit with the son of Hades. He was pretty shocked.

"Your breaking the rules kid." "I'm seven, I'm suppose to break the rules while I still have the chance to learn from them." "What can you learn from sitting with me?" "Nothing that I can think of now, but when I think of it I'll let you know." He smiled. "Fiona, I want to appropriately thank you. You gave me something that means more to me than anyone can imagine." I smiled and replied, "Us younger siblings have to stick together." "I guess you got a point. Go back to your table before someone important sees you. By the way, good luck with your first game of capture the flag." "Okay. And thank you!" I took my plate and moved back to my original seat next to Tyler and he kissed my forehead brotherly like. "What did you talk about?" "Younger sibling stuff." We finished our dinner and then Chiron came and gave us the rules for capture the flag. Apollo's cabin was on the blue team, opposite from Percy and Annabeth's team.

Percy came up to us before we got suited up. "Hey, just so you know capture the flag can get pretty fierce. So, if it seems like people want to kill you, it's just how you play the game." Tyler sighed, "You guys take camp way to seriously." "You know, I thought the same thing when I first played. It was actually during capture the flag did I find out who my dad was." "Seaweed brain! No chatting with the enemy!" "Okay! I'm coming! See you guys later." Percy jogged away and left us on that note. Brandon came over to us and took us to get fitted for our armor. My armor was specially made yesterday since everyone thought I would be to small for all of the other armor. I was about to try it on until Brandon stopped me. "If you want to sit this out, we will understand. You can chill with the Aphrodite kids until we finish." Instead of answering him, I continued to strap my armor on. I placed my quiver on my back and set an arrow up in my bow. "Are we going to stare at me all day or are we going to go kick some kids butt?" Tyler just smiled, that's what I loved about him he always encouraged my wild behavior.

I was positioned to help guard the flag. Tyler was going to be on the field with most of the other kids. I was with one With a few of Ares kids and we were probably sat around for a good while waiting for any attackers. I herd some rustling and turned around. "Did you hear that?" "What? You scared of the dark kiddie?" I ignored what she spat at me and climbed a tree. I settled myself on a branch high enough to avoid being seen but low enough where I could jump down. "Look at what you've done Meg." "Can it George!" That's when they got ambushed. A bunch of kids over took Meg and George and they were out before anyone could realize it. I set myself up so I was standing on the branch. Take them down Fiona. Show them what you're made of. This time I knew it was Apollo talking to me. I set my bow and arrow up and aimed at the kid closest to the flag. "Piece of ca-" I shot at him before he could even finish. He fell over and all of the other kids had their weapons drawn.

"SHOW YOURSELF COWARD!" They yelled. I wasn't scared or even intimidated(hopefully I got this word right) by these kids. I just kept firing away, shooting faster than they could react. Every kid was knocked out except for one. "I am the son of Athena! If you think you can out smart me, you are wrong!" Okay, he was nothing like Annabeth. I quickly saw that he was easing his way to the flag. There was a vine hanging from the tree I was in. I quickly tied it around my waist and readied another arrow. Okay, here it goes, I thought. I swung shot an arrow and landed on another branch. I saw that I had gotten that kid right where I wanted . He was out. I untied my self and jumped down. "That's my girl!" I turned around to see who had said that. A man with short blonde hair and blonde hair and blue eyes was standing next to me. I barely noticed my bow was set until he gently pushed it down. "Dad?" "In the flesh! Where's your brother? Ah, there he is! Tyler! What's going on?" I turned around to see Tyler and pretty much the whole camp.

Chiron said, "We welcome you, Lord Apollo and-" "Ah Chiron, enough with the formal intro. If you don't mind I would like a word with you and Fia here," he put his arm around me and pointed towards Tyler, who was still staring in shock, "and Tyler if you don't mind. Hey Percy! Glad to see your not dead yet." "Nice to see you again Apo-" "I feel a haiku coming on!" I have never seen a crowd disperse as fast as I saw the camp do. Mr. D said that he had told them to leave, since Apollo wanted to talk to us. But once I herd my dad's poetry skills I knew why they had left.

Their gifts I will explain now

"Apollo, um Lord Apollo-" "Call me Dad!" "That haiku was, err, interesting." Ha, I thought you would like it Fiona. Man, you've gotten so big and look at Tyler! You mines well as be a grown man, taking care of you baby sister. Just like you said kiddo." "You-you were that doctor? All of those years ago?" "Yep! I should also add that your babysitter was your aunt Artemis." I was so confused. "Tyler, what are you talking about?" "Why did you come back?" I looked for Chiron but he and Mr. D had already left. "Tyler, there is a time to answer that question, now is not the time." "What is going on, Tyler?" "You said gifts? What gifts?" "You know, your trance and her bow and quiver. Oh, do you like your gift Fio-" his face went dim when he saw me. I was so scared and confused I didn't know what was going on. My dad was here and my brother was ignoring me. I was about to cry until I felt someone pick me up. I began to cry. "I'm so sorry. I guess you don't understand what's going on do you?" "Hell hounds, swords, claiming, death," I barely recognized what I was saying.

"Fiona, it's going to be okay." "You promised." "I know I did, and I'm sorry I haven't been able to keep it." I just cried again. He promised that he would protect me and I felt bad that I made him feel like a failure. I herd my dad's voice, but I couldn't make out what he said. Tyler said something back, but I couldn't here him either, I was crying to loud. I guess they had a whole conversation. Tyler began to sing So Sick, my favorite song of all time and I calmed down. "Tyler, it's not nice to use your powers on your sister." "Wha-what powers?" Dad smiled. "Oh, right you probably weren't paying attention." We were sitting down on a picnic blanket and it was pretty dark.

"Well, allow me to fill you in. When your brother was born, I gave him a rare power. It's called a trance, were the person can even so much as hum a tune and anyone listening is put into a trance. When mastered they can even will other people to do anything they want. For you deer, you have a magical bow and quiver. The quiver will magically refill itself and the bow will grow along with you." I sat up and picked up my bow. Tyler must of slid that and my quiver off of me because the quiver was next to my bow. "And yes, that is why a sun beam showed you it. By the way, I thought your question was valid." "What question Apollo, err, Father?" "The one about you having midnight blue hair. I almost came down myself to answer you then, but it wasn't the time." "Apollo,-" "Please, call me Dad." "Apollo, why did you come back? Everyone is saying that Gods don't normally do that. So why you?" Dad smile died and he began to dim down. He looked directly at us. "I came back for you, Tyler."
