Golden glitter

Delia

The long walk through the forest gave Delia way too much time to think.

So far Kat and her had had all the same abilities and godly powers. They had spent a long time chatting while drying off after their dump in the canoe lake and it turns out they both had a tiny bit of charmspeak but no way near Piper's level. They both electric shocked people when they got annoyed and they were good at archery. A gift from each of their godly relatives.

But suddenly Delia could see a trail in the woods and Kat couldn't? It wasn't much of a path. Just like someone had sprinkled glowing gold glitter on a forest track. Kat must've thought she was hallucinating but the path was clearly there!

Delia began thinking about Percy. She'd heard so much about this famous hero, going on quests at least once a year to save the world. He'd saved the world on every single one of his quests and that made Lia feel useless. Their quest wasn't going to save anyone. They weren't going to stop anything bad from happening. Heck, they'd only even fought one monster as they seemed to be safe from monsters in Olympus. All they'd ever achieve in this quest would be restoring their friend to health (after their pointless quest had gotten him hurt) and they might possibly find their long lost dad who didn't want them in the first place. Lia remembered the last line of the prophecy, "And on his return the battle for camp will be fought." In this case did they even want him to return. Delia pulled herself out of her trance. She'd almost strayed from the trail of glitter, thinking negatively would have no point and plus, they had to have been sent on this quest for a reason, right?

She began to think about Nico and Kat. They clearly hated each other but they still cared for each other, and maybe as a little more than just friends. Lia smirked at the thought, her sister was always so tough, it was hard to imagine her having a soft side. Delia guessed Kat probably thought the reverse about her.

Those thoughts led to her thinking about Leo. She missed him so much. Yes, they'd only known each other for less than a week (unless you count the days she was unconscious which she didn't) and she'd dated him for a bit less. It was like she'd known him before they met. It was like she'd seen him in dreams before they met. Then she realised she had. But they were the types of dreams you forget as soon as you're awake. With only glimpses of a face to remember. Leo's face. She was shocked at the realisation that she'd dreamt about Leo since she was 10. Leo was her dream boy, literally. Maybe that's why she didn't waste much time getting to know him before she started dating him. She already knew him. She heard running water ahead and stopped at the stream to send an iris message to Leo while Kat rested and fed Nico a cake of ambrosia.

Leo shimmered in the water in front of her. He was on his lunch break.

"Leo!" She called.

He jumped. "Delia? Gods, where have you been? I've been so worried!"

"We had to go through a tunnel to get to the forest. We only just found this stream to send a message from!" She explained.

"That must've been one long tunnel." He whistled apprectiatively.

"Not really." She shrugged. Her eyes widened as she came to a realisation. "Leo, what's the date?"

"February 9th" He said. "Why?"

"I last messaged you 2 days ago!" She said.

"The tunnel must mess up time heaps." He paused as he did some quick calculations in his head. "You've been in there two days and it was actually eight days so time goes four times faster in the forest."

"At least we know that now though. How's the ship going?" She asked him.

He grinned like a maniac. "The outer shell is done, it just needs a deck, an inside and small details like an engine that should only take four months to complete!"

"Perfect!" She said. "Well I should get going so I can get back you sooner. Bye!"

"Bye!" He smiled as he waved his hand through the mist and the river went back to normal.

Notes

I'm trying to do slightly longer chapters now.
That's all for tonight. Nyx (by which I mean night!)

@Blackjack Tempest
Haha you're brilliant! :) Thanks for the support

Don't apologize for having short chapters, sometimes it annoys me when people have really long chapters.
