The Lost Daughter
Hey guess what?! I lied to you for 9 years!
"I'm sorry! Is that what you want to hear?" I asked Tarynn after 10 minutes. She sat up. "For what?" She asked. "Everything." I whispered. I sat down and leaned my head on the wall. "Listen. Remember history class? Remember the Greek Gods and Goddesses?" I asked her. "You mean Zeus and those guys? Yeah, I remember. But what does that have to do with anything?" She asked. "Well, get comfy, because this is going to take a while." I told her.
I explained how the Greek myths were real. How the Gods and Goddesses had children with mortals. Those kids were called demigods (or half-bloods), like me. It took her a minute to comprehend that. But with all the craziness and monsters she'd been through, it wasn't too hard to believe. I says how I was the daughter of Hermes, just like Luke. I said I knew she was a demigod, but not which God her parent was.
Now that was harder for her to believe. "That's not true! I was adopted, remember?" She said. Then I said her real mom must've had her with a God. "And, uh, here's another thing. My last name isn't Addams, like my uncle. My last name is Castellan, like Luke." I sighed. "He's my... my brother." Tarynn's eyes got huge. "You mean your BROTHER kidnapped us?!" She yelled. I nodded and shushed her.
"Now, here's some more... news. After your adopted-mom, Josephine, was killed, I helped clean out her house. I found your birth certificate. I can't remember what your mom's name was. Sandra Jacobsen? No, that's not it. Anyway, it's in my backpack I brought. But Luke has it. If he finds the certificate and see's who your mom is, that's not good." I said. Tarynn nodded slowly, shivering with anticipation.
"But everything will be ok, I hope. Wait, I just remembered! I have this special whistle Chiron gave to me! If I blow it, I guess some kind of help will come. It's worth trying. But, of course, it's in my backpack. We have to get it!" I said. I noticed she didnt even ask who Chiron was. Tarynn sighed, she was exhausted, confused, angry, plus a bunch if other things, I bet. "We'll get this all figured out. Now, lets refresh your memory on Greek mythology." I said.
If Tarynn was going to live in the world or monsters and Gods, she needs to know who they are first.
