The Lost Daughter
Consulting the Oracle
I waited at the bottom of the stairs leading to the attic. Should I? Well, I guess I had too. I slowly stepped up the creaky stairs. At the top, I tripped over a shield. It was covered in golden blood, the blood of the Gods. And it looked fresh. I was about to pick it up when a voice stopped me.
"I am the spirit of Delphi, speaker of the prophecies of Phoebus Apollo, slayer of the mighty Python. Approach seeker, and ask." The Oracle said. I cautiously approached her. "What can I do to help Felicia and... Tarynn?" I asked. "Your fate and future are tied with One, you know you are the only Son. But your father decided to have some Fun." The Oracle said.
"Excuse me? What did my dad do?" I asked, now directly in front of her. But she just repeated her words, "Your fate and future are tied with One, you know you are the only Son. But your father decided to have some Fun." My dad had some fun? Is that good or bad?
The green mist crept from her mouth, signaling she was done talking. Thank goodness. I lingered for a moment and then turned to go. I tripped on the shield, again. I examined the blood. Defiantly Olympian blood. I picked up the shield and receded down the stairs.
