Two Bodies, One Soul

Pride and Annoyance

Kat

Kat was stressed out. The Roman's were causing trouble at the events, she had to organise all the Greeks, the events were running late, Octavian was protesting at every turn, and to top it all off, some weird Roman kid decided to stab Beth in the back!
Ok, so it wasn't all bad news. Beth was still alive and kicking and Kat had Delia with her every step of the way.
Her and Delia had come to the decision to have a rest day between each of the events in which they'd officially announce and crown the winner. Just yet another step to stall as long as possible.

Kat lifted the prize off a pillow and flushed with pride as she placed the laurels atop Beth's head and stood back as the gathered audience applauded.
"Bethany Hughes, winner of the dagger duels!" Chiron announced in his booming voice.
Kat could see Beth smile to the audience, but there was a sad look in her eye. Kat couldn't blame her, she'd be a little sad if she'd been stabbed in the back too!

The day went by with a festive mood in the air. Even though the tournament was clearly just a plot to avoid war, no one seemed to be complaining accept Octavian.
Ugh! Octavian! He'd been nothing but trouble, Kat couldn't help but wonder why on earth the Roman's put up with him as a leader, the kid was clearly insane!
She avoided him, skirting the quad and making a beeline for the Aphrodite cabin. She tossed a coin into a bathroom sink and IM'd Nico.
He was sitting in a meadow of grass, somewhere in the lower regions of the Apenine mountains. Kat had almost fainted with joy when she'd heard he was coming back with Reyna.
"Less than a month..." She whispered.
He jolted but then caught her eye, "...until I can hold you again." He finished, his face was wrought with exhaustion from shadow-travelling but he managed a smile for her.
Kat smiled sadly and they both sat there, quietly staring at each others faces, taking every detail. Because for them, that was enough.
Eventually the sun sunk in the Italian sky and the message faded. Kat sighed and went back to socialise, figuring the more friends she made, the less that would want to kill her if the plan failed.

Notes

Yes, it's short. Yes, it doesn't make much sense. And yes, I haven't updated in a while.

But please forgive me because.
1) I just got back from work, dance, homework and parent teacher interviews to do this. I'm meant to be asleep.
2) I'm sick
3) About 2 hours of homework every night, plus dance, plus school clubs, plus I started working today, plus my school seems to think it's funny to take up as much of my free time as possible!

I'll update more in the weekend, I might even get a bit in on Monday (day off school to get my braces off!)
So stay tuned!
