Two Bodies, One Soul
Apologies and Flips
Kat
Kat waited awkwardly at the bottom of the stage while Delia dismounted, the laurels resting on her head. Delia ignored Kat, walking straight past her to the edge of the forest where a picnic bench lay in wait.
"Sit." Delia said, sitting down on the bench. Kat sat next to her.
"Look, I-" Kat began, but Delia cut her off.
"There's no need." Lia said. "I know you're sorry about Nic and you don't need to apologize to me. Remember, I can kinda feel your guilt."
Kat laughed. "Oh, yeah. I might have forgotten about that."
Delia laughed as well and they sat there in silence for a while. It wasn't an awkward silence, though. It was the kind where the emotions feel the silence so you don't have to. Kat could feel the warmth of Delia's forgiveness mixing with the coldness of her guilt.
Kat just ran her hand over the couples name's engraved in the bench as the enjoyed the peace of the day.
The next day was not peaceful. Well, ok, it was for Kat. Nothing like putting your blackbelt to good use to calm the nerves.
It was hand-to-hand combat day.
Kat barely struggled at all taking out the first competitors she faced, they were yellow belt at best.
The next ones, however, were the first real competition she had had in months, needless to say she took them all quite easily as well.
By the time she was just really getting warmed up, the announcer called that it was getting late so they would hold the finals tomorrow. Kat groaned because she knew it was just Delia's addition to the plan, holding the finals on separate days to buy more time. It was a great idea up to the point where it started taking the fun out of the competition.
Kat faced her aponent from across the arena, her name was Laura Brooks, a lithe American gymnast and karate blackbelt.
Kat lunged towards the Roman, her foot outstretched to kick her in the stomach. Laura grabbed her ankle and twisted it around, Kat flipped out of her grip, kicking her in the face as she did it.
Laura lunged to grab Kat's wrist but Kat grabbed her outstretched one instead. She flipped the smaller girl onto her back and held her there for a count of three.
It was a good match and one worth waiting for, Kat decided as she accepted the applause.

Notes
I think I've got four or five chapters left and then I'll be done :)
Sorry for the fact that there's not much like, war and stuff in it but I'm not great at writing in combat scenes.
@The Bright One
Thanks! :D
