Two Bodies, One Soul

Together

Delia

Delia locked the bathroom door behind her and fingered the coin in her hand, attempting to calm her breaths.
She had almost forgotten that July first was the Feast of Spes, the day Leo was to face Gaia. Delia figured by the fact that they weren't dead that they had succeeded, but with what cost? Their lives?
She turned on the tap to full before tossing in the coin and uttering the prayer to Iris. Leo's face appeared in the spray, battered and bruised but alive.
"Hey, godess." He smiled at her from underneath a layer of dirt.
"You're alive!" Delia exclaimed, to relieved to say anything else.
He laughed. "Why thank you for noticing!" Then he added more seriously. "We're all alive, we're all safe, and we're all coming home!"
Delia grinned. "How soon?"
He grinned back. "A week."
Delia's grin was so wide she was afraid her lips might escape her face, but even if they did she couldn't care less.
Leo was coming home.

The arrow hit the target with a resounding 'thwack!', although Delia wasn't sure if the hastily painted dot on the tree counted as a proper target.
She released another arrow and swore in greek when a gust of wind blew it off course into the wrong tree. Muttering under her breath she went to retrieve the arrow but it wouldn't come out of the bark.
"Here, allow me." A strong hand closed over hers and yanked it easily from the tree.
Delia took the arrow and turned to thank the owner of the hand.
"Thank yo-" She was stopped in her tracks when she saw the face underneath the curly head of hair. "Leo!" She gasped.
She threw her arms around his neck, dropping her bow and arrow.
"I told you a week, didn't I?" He asked, Delia could feel him grinning his corny smile.
He was right, it had been a week. But Delia wasn't expecting him to arrive until at least lunch.
"You did." She smiled and pulled out of his embrace to examine his face. His hair was longer and curlier, his face more chiselled and his build stronger and less scrawny, he stood at least a head above her now.
He ran a hand along her cheekbone, examining her face in the same way.
"You're not a godess anymore?" He asked.
Delia shook her head, "They wouldn't agree to fight me unless I gave it up."
He smiled, "I like it this way, you look more... you."
Delia giggled, "Who else?"
He grinned and tilted her head up so that their lips met.
Leo was home.
