The Librarian
Heroes Gathering
The cold wind grabbed at the hem of my skirt as we sped through the streets of New York. At Nico's insistence I had bought the beautiful black dress, but now I was regretting it as the cold chilled me through the thin fabric.
"You okay back there?" Nico called back, voice torn by the wind.
I tightened my arms around his waist to avoid slipping off Mrs O'Leary. "Perfect!" I yelled in reply.
I had gone back home after buying the dress to try get some study done, but I had only managed an essay introduction before Nico was back to give me a ride. Not that I was concentrating very well after what happened at lunch, but I guess that goes without saying.
"Where exactly are we going?" I asked.
"Not far now." He said in reply.
"Oh, so specific!" I lathered the comment with sarcasm amd was rewarded by his gorgeous laugh. We turned down a few more alleys and came to a stop outside a flash apartment building.
"Woah." I admired. "Nice place!"
He grinned. "Annabeth will thank you for that comment. She built it."
I grinned back and he lead me up a flight of stairs towards loud noises of chatting and... smashing plates? I shrugged it off as a demigod thing and followed Nico through an open door.
"Nico!" A tall guy with dark hair greeted him and gave him a bro-hug. "And this is..." He gestured towards me vaguely.
"Kimmi Ye." He introduced me, stepping back to beside me. "Kimmi, this is Percy."
My eyes widened, I was truly meeting heroes in the flesh.
"Nice to meet you, Kimmi." Percy extended a hand and I shook it, feeling hard calluses.
"You too." I said, restraining my inner (and outer) fangirl.
"Come." Percy led us inside to the source of the noise.
I looked around and I was truly amazed by the amount of chaos contained within the small living room; there was a guy fiddling with the television set, sparks flying around his hands. A couple of girls were in the kitchen, trying to extinguish the fire that had started in the oven. A few more girls (Piper among them) were playing pass-the-parcel with a swaddling-wrapped object I could only assume was a baby, while Jason carried around a very unimpressed looking cat.
"Woah!" I uttered again; I had a feeling it was going to be an interesting weekend!
