Snow

My alarm clock beeped in synch with the sound of the school bell. I quickly hopped out of bed, grabbed my gloves, pulled open the closet, and tugged some clothes on.
"Need some light?" Mira asked softly, causing me to jump.
She walked over to the small, porthole-like window and pushed open the curtains. She already had on skinny jeans and a slinky purple shirt that perfectly showed off her curvy figure. I, on the other hand, was far less fashionable, wearing jeans and a white shirt that said, "Snow snow, go away, come again another day". Ironic, right?
I slipped on my Toms and grabbed the doorknob. "You ready?" I asked Mira.
"Ready!" Mira finished strapping her sandels and stood up.

At the mall, about halfway to Tiffany's, and after many complaints to Mira about how far she parked the car from the store, I ran into someone while looking the other direction.
"Omigod, I am so sorry!" I started to help him up, but he pushed himself up.
He shook his head. "Don't. But, really, it's fine. Oh, what's your name?" He asked, turning to face me.
For once I saw his facial and body features. He had nice browned skin, with his hair neatly combed back. Something I saw that startled me was that he had black eyes, but I just looked past it. He wore a shirt that stated, "I commune with the dead. Just don't ask," and denim shorts. He was handsome in that non-jocky, non-geeky, but just-in-the-middle way, and I wondered if he had a girlfriend. Suddenly, I jump back to his question.
"My name is Selena Delonez. What's yours?" I asked.
"Mark Hanks. Hey, you cold? Cause for some reason it dropped by 20 degrees in here," Mark shivered almost theatrically.
I blushed as much as I could with my pale skin. "Um, maybe it's just you, cause I'm just fine."
"You seem trustworthy. Could you hold my phone while I go tell my sis about this?" Mark placed a phone in my hand, and I blanched and focused on trying not to turn the phone into an ice block. Mark ran off.
"What now?" I asked Mira through clenched teeth.
"Sit and wait," Mira shrugged as she went to sit down on a bench.
I would have screamed at her if I hadn't been concentrating so hard. I caught sight of her laughing, and I forgot all about the phone.
"Mira, if you are laughing at me, you will --" I was interupted by a cracking sound, meaning snow and ice was starting to take over Mark's phone. "-- regret it..."
Mira bounced away. "Well now you have to regret about something! Ooh, look, Mark's coming back!" She stopped and pointed.
I started to slowly retreat. Then I ran. All the way across the mall, down the steps, and out of the parking garage. I stopped at the front steps of Dillard's, and just broke down silently. I felt a hand on my shoulder.
"Mira?" I looked up with blurry vision.
"No. It's Mark. Why did you run away like that? And with my phone too?" Mark crossed his arms.
"Bec-cau-caus-se o-o-f-f THIS!" I wailed, holding out his phone and sobbing.
"Did you dip it in that snow pile near the mall on your way out?"
"N-n-n-ooooooooo!" I kept my face smushed into my jeans. I was too scared to look at his face.
"What happened then?" Mark sofened a bit, seeing me devastated.
I calmed down. "I happened!"
Mark didn't look upset, just mainly confused. "Wha?"
"Don't you see?" I touched my hand to the sidewalk, and the thing became a snowy paradise.
"You don't mean..." Mark kneeled down and looked around suspiciously. "Khione?"
I sniffled and nodded.
"You see my shirt?" He pointed to himself. "Thatanos happened." He chuckled.
My eyes widened. I didn't think that to majorly powerful forces should be together. I scooted away from him.
"It's fine. Just, I'm in charge of escaping souls sometimes. So," he started to whisper, "I'll bring you back to life if you need."
I giggled. I wondered if he was serious. I shrugged it off.
