Nicolas Evens: The Rise of the new ones

Our walk through the labyrinth was something aatounding. For the most of it, I had allowed Adam to ask me questions. He asked a handful. Which was good considering when I met him, he was extremely silent. I was proud of him. He had shattered that cacoon of shyness and blossomed into a mighty butterfly.

For the most of it, he didn't ask many questions, just the ones that allowed him to get me better. How old was I when I was claimed? Twelve. Did my mom know I was a demigod? I didn't know that one, I never got the chance to ask her. But that would be something I'd ask her in one of my letters how. How did I react when I found out my father was Hades? Not bad at all. I actually liked the idea, but when I realized my dad was this all powerful deity that didn't even bother to pop in every once in a while, I decided: if he didn't want me, I didn't need him.

Focusing my attention on the pathways, I noticed the peices of string over lap. Hatling to a stop, I smiled. "We've been here already, that way is masked in string, let's go this way." I said as another tunnel opened up and I continued.

After about what felt like ten miles, we stopped at a set of two doors. Glancing up, I smiled. I recognized that presence before. It was the feeling I'd get when I had to make a decision.

"Oh, great." I heard Liz pout in the back. Glancing at a hardy shadow, I noticed a man appear. He held a weird facial expression and then I realized, it wasn't a facial expression. Those were his faces. Once of judgement, one of anger and one without expression at all. Janus of choices. The God of beginning and endings. He wasn't a fairly active god, but he was an active pain in the behind.

"Nicolas Evens, it's been a year now. How have you been?" The god switched his head to the nutral expression indicating he was pleased or at least indifferent. "I know, you're currently on a quest, but as you know choices are going to have to be made. I am here because something is sturring. Nyx has risen and you must stop her or else Olympus will end." In a smirk he began to laugh.

"What's so funny?" I asked annoyed.

"It's ironic that even the great Zeus would need your help in due time. I find it halarious because a child of Hades would be expected to do the things that even his father does. Lie. Cheat. Steal."

"So, what's the choice?" I asked irritated by Janus's presence. He had a way of annoying me and making me want to drive my celestial bronze blade through his heart. Luckily for him, I knew he was right about the who Zeus thing and wouldn't mind having a conversation about that sometime in the future. You know, when I'm not trying to save the world from a psychotic chick trying to finish what her sister failed at.

"Now, it's just a choice in path, but choose wisely." Janus smiled. "Because, one way you could find your happyly ever after and the other you could have to kill a friend at the end."

Turning around, I locked arms with my platoon and smiled. We conversed the possibility of choosing. After put every possibility in out mind, we decided to go with the one that seemed best.

"I choose, right." I announced.

"I hope that choice doesn't backfire. Goodluck young heroes of the new age. I do hope we meet again." In a beacon of light the door opened as we all walked through it.

Janus, Roman God of Beginnings and Endings, God of Cross Roads, God of Choices. It seems like these old faces are all coming back. Now that we've had enough good for tuna, like Percy says it. I think it's about time our heroes meet up with some enemies.
