The Circle

I ran to my next class with that last thought still in my head.

I kept saying to myself that everything was gonna be fine, but how could it? My father died, my mother died and now I'm discovering that I have powers, or what ever they were.

When I went to my first period ( which was science ) I saw Faye with Nisha, how could anyone stand Faye, she's conceded, and an uptight bitch.

" Ah there you are, everyone this is Emma Blake coming from, where was it again you came from?" my science teacher Mr. Chavez said.

" I'm coming from New York City," I answered

" Ah, a New Yorker, you should fit in nicely, go sit there next to Annabeth," he said pointing to Anna.

Once I settled in my desk Anna whispered to me without making eye contact, " I saw what you did to Faye, last time I saw anyone do that was Percy, so how exactly you doing this, have you been practicing?"

" No, and I dont even know how I did that, I'm still figuring out what I can do, I think I should start going to those meetings of yours," I whispered back.

" Ok, follow the instructions in the book and do not and I repeat, do not turn on the burner." Mr. Chavez instructed.

Anna and I put on our safety glasses and mixed the chemicals then all of a sudden our burner turned on then some how, I guess I had put it out, then I gave Faye my death stare and then her shirt caught fire and she screamed and put it out immediately and ran into the bathroom looking more embarrassed than I thought anyone could look.

" What the? Nisha did you or Faye have anything to do with this?" Mr. Chavez asked.

She shook her head, " Yah no, I think it was more Anna's little trick or maybe even Emma,"

" How could I possibly do that? And what reason would I have to harm anyone much less put this school in jeopardy?" Anna replied back.

" I believe Annabeth, Emma what do you have say, who do you think did this?"

" I honestly think that either Faye was just trying to be the main attraction or that it was just a stupid mistake." I answered.

He nodded his head then the bell rang and we were dismissed.

" Hey Emma, what the hell is going on with your eyes?" Anna asked while handing me a mirror.

I looked in the mirror and saw that my eyes had changed from icy blue to shiny gold.

" Em-!" Anna exasperated while pulling me with immense force to the bathroom.

I noticed nobody was in the bathroom then I saw the skull hovering above my head.

" Your the daughter of Hades," Anna said disappointed.

" What?! How? Are you crazy!" I responded.

I ran out of the bathroom with Anna calling for me, I ran out of the school then before I knew it, I was in the Chance Harbor cemetery, looking down at my so called " father" 's grave, tears rolling down my face.

A hand was touching my shoulder.

" Hey dad, long time no see,"
