The Daughters of the Big Three

Chapter Seven

“What the-” An unfamiliar voice says.
“Uh, where are we?” Says the other figure.
“WOULD YOU PLEASE GET OFF OF ME?” Accailia yells.
“Oh, sorry,” We all untangle ourselves and two boys who looks to be about fifteen stand before me. “I’m Zac,” One of them says. He has blue eyes and light brown hair. The other boy introduces himself as Jace, who has jet black hair and super dark brown eyes. Accailia, Drea, and I all introduce ourselves.
“Nice to meet you,” Jace says. “Mind telling us where we are?”
I look at Drea who looks at me with eyes saying: You handle this.
“Long Island, New York.” I reply. Drea nods at me.
“Well, I guess that makes sense,” Zac looks around. I notice that Jace is looking at my sword.
“Are you three also…?” He starts.
“Demigods?” Accailia whispers.
“You are?” Zac says. He lets out a sigh of relief. “So are we. But I’m still confused. One second were looking at this crack in this tree,” He points at the pine tree, where the crack is now black “And then something pushes into it and then we are thrown into you three. And now we are in the same place, but with different surroundings?”
“Wait, have you ever heard of Camp Half-Blood?” Drea asks.
“Camp-what?” Jace asks.
“This place,” I gesture down to the majority of the camp. “Camp Half-Blood. The place for demigods.”
“No, the place for half-bloods is Demigod Manor,” Zac says.
We all look at each other, puzzled. Then ten years of constant book reading finally pays off. “Oh my gods!” I snap my fingers.
“What?” Everyone says, simultaneously. Creepy.
I hesitate, “You guys are from an alternate universe!”
“No way…” Accailia gasps
“Awesome,” Zac mutters.
“Impossible,” Drea proclaims.
“Really?” Jace quizzes.
“Yeah, I mean something caused a crack in time and the universe and you guys went through it and now you’re here!” I say, arms spread out.
“Dang,” Zac says. “You a daughter of Athena?”
“No, Poseidon,” I reply.
“Wait who’s your parent?” Drea asks.
“Zeus,” Zac says. He rolls up his sleeve to reveal a birthmark in the shape of a lightning bolt. “Wait, where are your marks?”
“Zeus is my dad!” Accailia exclaims.
“What do you mean?” I ask, looking at my forearm.
“Well, when you find out you’re a demigod, the shape of the birthmark on your arm becomes clear and that’s how you know who your godly parent is,” Zac explains.
“The Mist is what makes it unreadable,” Jace says.
“I bet you can control the Mist too, Jace?” Drea says sarcastically.
“Yeah, son of Hecate,” He smiles. Drea looks shocked when he says he can.
“I have a brother!” Accailia grins, staring at Zac.
“I have a sister?” Zac raises an eyebrow at her. “How do you guys find out who your godly parent is?”
“When we come to camp, we get claimed,” Drea explains, “The symbol of your parent appears above your head and that’s how you know.”
“We are from an alternate universe,” Jace says staring wide-eyed at the ground.
“That might explain all the monsters…” Drea whispers. She looks around. “We need to talk to Chiron.”
“Hold on, who is your parent?” Jace asks.
“Hades,” Drea says. She turns sharply on her heals and we jog down the hill.
“The daughters of the big three, huh?” Zac jogs up next to me.
I never thought about that before. “I guess so.”
We approach the big house and ask around until we eventually find Chiron talking to some campers.
“Chiron,” Drea says. “Something crazy just happened.”
Chiron looks at the boys then back at Drea. “Explain,” He says.
We tell him about what just happened and introduce Zac, and Jace. He nods as we speak.
“That’s where all the monsters were probably coming from,” Drea says.
“Wait, what monsters?” I ask. “I thought monsters couldn’t get inside of camp.”
“When they’re on the outside they can’t get through. But lately monsters have been appearing inside the camp out of nowhere,” Drea reasons.
“And they haven’t been normal either,” Accailia says. “There are monsters we have never heard from mythology.”
“Then that would make perfect sense if you two are from an alternate universe. The monsters would be different in your world than the ones we have here,” Drea is getting excited.
“I noticed the crack turned black after you guys came through. Do you think that means that no one can get through the rift anymore?” Accailia looks at Chiron who seems to be in deep thought.
“I don’t know. Maybe it only glows when someone is coming through?” I wonder aloud.
“Perhaps,” Jace intrudes. “So you are different from our Chiron.”
“There is another of me from where you’re from?” Chiron asks.
“Yeah. There’s also another Zeus and all the other gods,” Zac says.
“Then you have to be from another universe if you also have a Chiron and this one doesn’t know you,” Accailia says.
“Let’s not get ahead of ourselves,” Chiron says putting his hand up. We stand in silence and wait. “Drea and Jace why don’t we go inform Dionysus about this. You three go watch and stand guard by Thalia’s tree and don’t tell anyone about any of this until we have more information.”
