The Daughters of the Big Three

Chapter Eight

We sit by the tree with our weapons. Zac has a sword made out of dragon tooth. He tells us that it won’t hurt mortals and we tell him that our weapons are the same. Zac tells us what it’s like in Demigod Manor and in exchange we tell him about Camp Half-Blood.
“…And that’s why it doesn’t rain in Camp,” Accailia says.
“That’s really cool,” Zac says. “But does it-”
“Guys,” I interrupt. The crack is starting to glow. We stand up, ready to fight. Accailia unsheathes a second dagger. We stand in silence as the rift grows and shines brighter. Then a figure steps calmly out of the crack and the light fades. A boy with blond hair and gold eyes stands before us.
“Kris?” Accailia asks the boy. “What are you doing here?”
“I-I don’t know what happened,” Kris says. I’m guessing Kris is another demigod from Camp. “I just was looking at this crack and then next thing I know I’m in some weird place. I managed to get back here but I don’t know what happened,” He sits down on the grass.
“It’s okay,” I say sitting next to him.
“Who are you?” He asks.
“I’m Elaina, daughter of Poseidon.”
“I’m Kris, and I don’t know who my parent is.”
“Um… Hi, Kris, I’m Zac.”
“Good to meet you two,” Kris says.
“So whenever someone goes through the rift,” I begin, “Then it grows larger.”
“But what caused it?” Accailia asks.
“I think I know who your parent is Kris,” Zac stares at Kris’s forearm. On Kris’s arm is a birthmark. It transforms into the shape of a pocket watch. “No way,” Zac whispers.
“That’s impossible though,” Accailia says.
“Who’s his parent?” I ask.
“That’s the symbol of the Lord of Time,” Zac says.
Accailia nods, “Kronos.”
