Freedom in Camp Half-Blood

97 Days Before

I strolled through the grassy fields of the camp, watching our brilliantly red sky - yes, red sky, warp and twist under the shredding forces of solar flares ripping it to pieces. I never got to see the Northern Lights, but if it was solar flares hitting our magnetic field, I'm almost glad I didn't.

There was a certain beauty in the destruction of our planet - something that I didn't really want to watch silently from behind closed doors, but...I didn't have a choice. Zeus is unforgiving, and my heart was already so black from hatred for him that emotions really didn't hit me much anymore.

Another meteor streaked through our destroyed atmosphere, exploding on impact and sending a furiously blinding shockwave out, ripping down what little trees were left outside the barrier. I shielded my eyes from the light, watching the boiling hot cloud billow up from the newest crater on the Earth's mottled surface.

I don't even know why I bother recalling my thoughts and then writing them down into my diary - at the rate that the government is going, there won't be anyone left to read my misery and teenage angst after a few more weeks of agonizing heat and meteor strikes. That massive Earth-destroying rock isn't that far away from hitting us.

Oh well. Their dumbass move, I guess. Seems to be all that they're capable of. It's their fault that we had WWIII too - they didn't stop Iran, or rather, they didn't even bother noticing that Iran had the capabilities to make nuclear weaponry until they made another stupid comment on the middle east and BOOM. America was under attack. We didn't even respond until three days after, saying that it would offend too many of the "allies" there.

Ugh. What allies? Who gives a damn? We're already burning to death, and by sitting here like ducks trying to decide whether or not to bomb the country that's already gone hostile was ridiculous.

And I get to se it unfold before me as the clock ticks down. Farther, and farther.

Goodie.
