The Children of Olympus: The Final Prophecy

Chapter Three

“You wanted to see us?” I asked with great anxiety. I was so nervous. What could he possibly want?
“I’m afraid I have bad news.” He said with a sad face. We all looked to him. “There is a prophecy that has to be about you three. Meet Rachel Dare.” He finished and we turned our attention to a 30 year old woman with bright orange hair. She had bright green eyes, and was really peppy just by her look.
“Hi!” she said with a voice that was sprite-like.
“So there is a prophecy?” Sam asked with anger in her eyes. Rachel coughed and looked down. Then she snapped her head up and her eyes glowed green. She started hissing a prophecy.
“The children of the elements
All three shall go
Defeat all Titans of old
And the father of time

The daughter of air
And fire and forge
Is appointed leader
Of a centrifical force

The son of the sea
And wisdom and wit
Shall accomplish a task
Hard to forget

The daughter of war
And riches and death
Shall use her powers
Better than before

But heed this warning
The journey is tough
If one of you turns
It could be rough

All of you are powerful
And dangerous as well
Each a different assignment
Each a different personality

Follow your parents’ footsteps
To the first of tasks
The story will unfold
Piece by piece

The finale of mythology is waiting for you
Waiting in Tartarus
First complete the task
Then defeat the father

If you fail
A fate worse than death
The world and Olympus will crumble
At the hands of-“she stopped.

“Who?” I yelled. She went back to normal. She shook her head.
“I don’t know.” She said with bewilderment. “This has never happened before. I always finish prophecies.” She started to walk off in a daze. “The father!” she yelled with happiness.
“Who?” I said again with annoyance.
“Chaos” Charles yelled. My jaw dropped to the floor. He was right. The father of time and darkness. Chiron’s gaze turned black. Sam turned into the Hades persona.
“So I need to make nice with my dad because we just got a death certificate.” She said with an attitude. She was mad. Then a diamond popped up by her left foot. She started to rant. “We don’t deserve this! We haven’t done anything!” she yelled. A couple gold bricks rose out of the ground.
“Sam” I said quietly.
“NO! This isn’t happening! Why do the gods and goddesses have to be like this all the time?!” she started yelling now and pacing back and forth. The metal window frames and door hinges started to squeak. “WHY?!” she yelled. The door hinges started to circle around her and the window frames shattered the windows. A piece of glass flew past my face and cut my cheek.
“Sam!” I screamed. At that moment everything hovering fell to the floor. I felt the blood streaming down my cheek. Her face turned from mad to sorry.
“Silena. I’m so sorry.” She said with sadness. She walked to me, and she took off her bandana around her head and wiped my cheek off.
“Now you see what they mean. You three are just too powerful. The gods and goddesses will be coming after you now. They have seen a display of power by all three of you now. This is definitely not good.” Chiron said grimly.
“We need to leave on our quest, but what are we looking for?” I asked. Chiron looked at me with sad eyes.
“The first place that your parents went was in the search of Persephone’s Pearls. Then they went to the Underworld to retrieve Charles’ grandma, Sally.” He said.
“So are we supposed to do that?” I asked in confusion. “I am not getting the big picture yet.” Sam spoke up.
“If Chaos is coming back, it will be three times as bad as Kronos. We will never win. Our parents barely won with a giant demigod army against this guy’s grandson.” She said quietly with calm. I then understood the whole story.
“No. I’ve got it. This is so crazy.” I said with a smile and amazement. Charles, Sam, and Chiron looked at me with anticipation.
“What?” Sam asked. I laughed.
“Obviously we have to find out what Chaos is planning to do, then we can go find his weaknesses. Then we might have a chance at beating him in a war, or by ourselves. We have to visit the gods. We have to learn about Chaos before we can make decisions. That is just good strategy.” I said plainly. Everyone’s jaw dropped to the floor. Chiron laughed.
“Maybe Silena is the heir of Athena.” He laughed loudly while Sam and Charles stared at me wide eyed. “Wait the gods want to kill you all. How will that work?” he asked. I hadn’t thought about that.
“We have to try. We won’t be able to know unless we ask.” I said with bravery. Everyone nodded, and we walked out of the Big House.
“So…who wants to drive?” I asked looking at Sam and Charles. Then Sam spoke up.
“I can only do this once, so are we ready?” she asked. Charles and I had fear in our eyes. She laughed. “Come here.” She said motioning us to her. We walked over and she closed her eyes. Black smoke started to form around us.
“Sam what exactly are we-“ I started to scream because it felt like warp four. I opened my eyes and we were in a tunnel of darkness, pure black. Charles was green and clutching his mouth. Then we stopped abruptly and I saw all three of us in front of the Empire State Building. Charles started to wobble around. I grabbed his arm for balance to help him.
“Just get it out buddy.” Sam said with care. He then spewed dinner all over the concrete outside of the building. Sam patted him on the back and laughed while he finished. I started to laugh too.
“I think I’m good.” He said with exhaustion. “Let’s not do that again.” We all laughed. All three of us walked in together. I led the group, and walked to the front desk.
“600th floor please.” I asked politely. The bellhop looked at me like I was crazy.
“There is no 600th floor.” He said with laughter. Sam pushed me out of the way and went right up and leaned on the desk. She pulled her dagger out of her side and she stuck it in the desk. She smiled at the bellhop. His eyes turned gold.
“Mars almighty, so sorry.” He said opening the elevator. Sam removed her dagger from the desk and put it back in her side pocket.
“Has anybody been here yet?” Charles asked the group. Sam and I shook our heads. “Neither have I. When we hit floor 100, the elevator went into hyper speed. It flew all the way up to 600. Charles stepped out first and expelled what was left to the right of the elevator. Sam and I followed behind when he was done.
“Can you not handle G’s?” I asked. He laughed and nodded. We quietly walked up to the Throne Room. It was a white marble shrine the size of ten Empire State Buildings. It had pure gold doors.
“Holy sh-“ I started. Sam cut me off.
“I know.” She finished. We all looked at each other, and I knocked on the doors. They magically opened, and I saw 24 giant feet. I walked in first, leading my group as the fearless leader into the Throne Room. I stepped in to see every god and goddess that I had ever heard of. In the middle was my grandpa, Zeus. He sat in a golden throne with a gold eagle. On his left, was Charles’ grandpa, Poseidon. His chair was blue with dolphins on the handrails. To Zeus’ right, Sam’s dad sat in a black chair embroidered in flames. That was definitely Hades. Then they were surrounded by all the major gods and goddesses.
“Why are you here?!” Zeus screamed. Athena stared me right in the face.
“I’m so glad you came to finish what you started, you little brat. Mommy and Daddy aren’t here to save you now.” Athena cackled. Sam stepped in front of me, and I unlatched Aegis.
“I’m sorry, but you can’t do that.” Sam said with a sour attitude. Athena cocked her head sideways.
“Athena if you so much as lay a hand on my granddaughter, I will skewer you with a spear and bake you at 350.” Hades said. Sam smiled. Hades gave her the thumbs up.
“There is a prophecy that we need help with. I have strategized and assumed that the more we know about him, the more he is at a disadvantage.” I said plainly. Zeus gave me a confused look.
“Who?” Zeus asked. All the other gods and goddesses stared at me with wide eyes.
“Chaos” I said with greif. All of the gods and goddesses’ mouths hit the floor.
“Chaos as in the maker of the world?” Apollo asked with fear. I nodded. The gods and goddesses started rubbing their foreheads or putting their face in their hands and slumping over. Hades stood up.
“We have been having problems in the Underworld lately, so that would make sense. Chaos has already almost consumed Tartarus. There is no way that we could beat him even if gods and demi-gods stood together.” He finished.
“Grandpa, we have to try.” Sam said as Hades looked at her with sad eyes.
“I will tell the story.” Poseidon started. Sam, Charles, and I listened intently. “Chaos is the beginner of time. He is the father of all time and darkness. He had two children. Gaea and Oranus. They had two children. Kronos and Rhea. Gaea helped Kronos overthrow Oranus. After he got rid of his father, Kronos became the Titan ruler. He and Rhea had six kids. Zeus, Demeter, Hades, Hera, Hestia, and myself. Zeus and Hera had four kids. Apollo, Artemis, Hepheastus, and Athena. Zeus and Demeter had one child, Persephone. Anyone I am forgetting yet?” he asked. Aphrodite and Ares raised a hand unhappily. “So sorry kids. Zeus and Hera had six kids. Add Aphrodite and Ares to that list. Chaos is the most powerful spirit that exists. This is why I don’t think we can beat him. I’m just saying that there is no way unless we got everyone together, and I mean everyone. Not just the gods and goddesses…” he said quietly. All the gods and goddesses looked at him with surprise except for Zeus and Hades.
“You know we can’t do that.” Zeus said with sadness.
“Who in the hell is supposed to take care of the Underworld?” he asked with a temper.
“Don’t ask me, I didn’t give you that realm!” Poseidon yelled back.
“Stop! Who is ‘everyone’?” I asked yelling over their bickering. Everyone looked at me.
“We would have to get all of the spirits together. Everything that is immortal. It is possible, but the chances are very slim, but that never stopped your parents before.” Zeus said with contemplation.
“LIES! DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY DEMIGODS WERE KILLED? THEY GOT LUCKY!” Hades yelled. Poseidon gave him the death stare.
“I WILL DROWN YOU IN THE ST. LOUIS! WHICH ALSO HAPPENS TO BE EXTREMELY DISGUSTING WATER!” Poseidon yelled. Zeus stood up and the sky thundered.
“STOP!” Zeus yelled above all. “We will help the children.” Everyone’s face turned dark.
