The sun settled against the horizon and I clambered into a tree and settled back against the trunk with a disappointed sigh though my muscles were twitching from exhaustion my mind was more awake than ever.

The sun continued to sink, as did my eyelids until both the night and my mind went dark.

I awoke to myself tumbling out of the tree. I didn't remember what had made me fall exactly but I knew I was falling.

I kept falling into the darkness.

I hadn't thought the tree branch was that high. It certainly hadn't seemed like it when I had climbed up.

And I kept falling.

The rushing sensations of weightlessness and intense gravity both overwhelmed me at once.

I kept falling.

The tree certainly hadn't been that high. I ought to have hit the ground by then. But I didn't.

I kept falling.

That was it. If I hit the ground at the speed I was traveling then I would have beem splattered to bits. I was going to die.

I floated.

The fall stopped as suddenly as it had seemed to start and I was suspended above... well I didn't know what.

Suddenly I was bathed in a blinding white light and a let out a shout of surprise, covering my eyes with my hands and promptly falling about a foot onto something hard.

"Who's there?" Someone shouted in a rough drawling accent I couldn't recognise.

My eyesight cleared and I blinked away the white spots to see an older girl glaring at me with a huge flashlight in hand, yellowish spindly plants bordered the patch of gravel I lay sprawled on.

"Who are you?" The girl demanded in that same accent I couldn't quite pick.

"Cordelia. Cordelia Gerals." I managed, my thoughts flying in every direction. "Who are you? Where am I?"

The girl frowned. "I'm Kaia. Kaia Moana. As for that last question, well... let's get you inside before we start on that." She offered me her hand and I took it. She pulled me up and led me down a track towards who-knew-where.

I'm far too proud of that name; Kaia Moana (kaimoana means seafood) ;)

I'll keep writing this as soon as I'm able but I'm so sorry if it will be a while! I'm going to be super busy from now on!
