The Runner

"Did you- Did you just...?" Chris said.

I frowned. "No, I didn't. Wasn't it you?"

"It was me." A deep voice behind me said. I turned to see a man woven from the wind and a groan left my lips.

"Seriously, another one?" I asked. I shot Chris a barely-masked look of bitterness. "Looks like you've just been claimed."

The wind shook his head. "Not him, you."

I looked at him like he was speaking another language. "But I don't have a dad."

He laughed. "Of course you do. I am Eurus, though my children have as bad a luck as I do."

Chris grinned and nudged me, though I was still in shock. "You have a dad!" He said.

I blinked and the wind god disappeared, I wasn't certain that it hadn't been a trick of my mind.
