Time's Daughter
Frozen
I couldn't move. Nico pulled at my hand, but I might have well been a statue for all it mattered. I couldn't speak and I couldn't even look around.
"Angel!" Nico screamed at me. "We need to move!"
We were just inches from shadow traveling away. But I was frozen in place.
The foot steps came closer, and this time a voice joined them. A familiar voice that I hadn't heard in years.
"Athaliah!" the voice called. "Come out come out where ever you are!" It taunted.
Tears welled up in my eyes, streaming down my frozen face. Nico stared at me.
"Angel?" he asked, his voice, quiet and impossibly still. "Angel what's wrong?"
I gathered up as much power as I possibly could. I couldn't save myself , but ill be dead beforei I left harm come to him. Gold energy filled the corridor in which we stood.
Our pursuer laughed. "You can didn't away like that Athaliah!" he taunted.
Nico watched me, his eyes were filled with terror. I could stand to let him look like that. I broke free from my invisible bondage, but only slightly.
"I'm sorry," I whispered. "I have to do this."
"What are you--" he stopped. The golden light was reaching out for him. His eyes widened. "Don't you dare!" he snarled. Fighting against my power. "Im not leaving you!"
"You have to!" I bit back. "This isn't a fight you can help with!"
"But you're pregnant!"
I smiled, running a hand down my stomach. My powers could do this I was sure. Our son would have a premature birth. I closed my eyes, gathering all of my power.
Nico screamed and fought against me. He knew what I was doing and he most certainly did not like it.
Our persuser was closing in. We were sort on time. The golden light became blinding for a moment and I looked away. The weight in my stomach lessened. Did I work? I wondered.
Nico held a tiny human in his arms, he stared down at it, his eyes wide with disbelief it it cried and curled its tiny fingers around his thumb.
I smiled. My strength was already started to leave me, I had to send them away from our persuser caught up with us.
"Take care of him," I whispered, wrapping them in a golden cocoon right as the footsteps reached us.
A large hand wrapped itself around my neck, yanking me into the air. But it was too late, I had ready sent them away.
I stared down at the face of my dead brother, Darren. But inside his body was something else.
"Hello, Athaliah," he grinned. "Did you miss me?"
Notes
So I got up another chapter, I know it's been a while, but my dad and I are still working on fixing my computer, it should be done in by tonight, and I should really be able to get to work. I type this up on my kindle.
