The Morrigan's Return
I glared at Kuro. I didn't really want to do this, but I wanted even less for him to hurt Nico. I wondered how much he had seen and if Piper and Jason were helping him with out son. Not that he really needed it...He had been the one doing all the parenting planning, not me...He probably knew what to do with our child better than I did. I wondered if Nico which name Nico had given him. He wanted to name him something normal, like Chris, but I wanted our child to be unique I wanted to name him Levi. (Partly because I thought the name was pretty and partly because I had become addicted to an anime called Attack on Titan recently and really liked that particular character).
But what Kuro wanted me to do involved going into the mortal world and well murdering half the population. Kuro was a sadist. He enjoyed inflicting pain on others. Especially humans, he thought they were no better than cattle. Unfortunately, Kuro can't make contact with the mortal world. He is the embodiment of black holes. Going down to the mortal world would cause the world to end in about three seconds, and he didn't really want the world to end. That's why he created Athaliah. She is Kuro's daughter, in a sense. That's why he is so much powerful than her, and why she is terrified out him.
She tried escaping through humans but when ever she tried to give her powers over to others, in an attempt to live the world, the power drove them insane, and they killed themselves. I was the only one who survived, but I wouldn't really say that. Instead of killing myself, like the others had, and killed others. When Athaliah gave me her powers I turned into the Morrigan. And it had taken her three years to wrestle them back from my hands.
Now I was to attempt to try it again. And Kuro was counting on me turning into the Morrigan.
I sighed and closed my eyes. Are you sure you want to do this? Athaliah asked.
I will NOT let Kuro kill Nico. I nodded, and she gave me all her power, every last drop, it was mine to control.
I opened my eyes for a moment nothing happened. Then a dark and demon laugh escaped my lips. The Morrigan was back.
I cradled Levi is my arms. He really did look like his mother. I sighed. There had been no sign of her. No one could figure out where she was. It had been almost a week since I had watched her agree to something with that man, whom she'd called Kuro.
I wondered endlessly what she had agreed to do. And that day. I got my answer.
Just as I hope Levi down to bed in a borrowed cradle in cabin 13. Percy and Jason came in with grave faces.
"Did something happen?" I asked, afraid of what they might say.
They didn't say anything, they just handed me a newspaper. Plastered to the front page was an image of Angel sitting leisurely on a corpse, blood splatters covered her body and clothes and her face was twisted with manic laughter as she licked blood of her scythe. The head line read:
THE MORRIGAN AT LARGE ONCE MORE!
Now I knew what she had agreed to.Notes
Dunn dun. Dunn...what will happen next. Was the image of Angel was bit too gorey or too creepy? I'm still not sure.
