The Heroes of The Camps

Valuable Information

There has been so much hulaballo about Echo Jackson disappearing off the face of the earth for about...eight weeks now. I knew her personally - she was definitely one of my closer friends and I desperately wanted to go out and look for her, but Chiron and Mr. D were only allowing her boyfriend Adrian to go out for long periods of time to search.

"Hey May." A voice rang out behind my shoulder.

"Hey yourself!" I smiled, turning around and wrapping an arm around my friend Storm. She was a very quiet girl, but being the daughter of Hecate can sometimes make you a laughingstock...especially because Storm was a total klutz.

"How've you been holding up since Echo's been gone?"

"I'm okay." I lied. Well, I was okay, to a certain extent, but I was constantly worried that Echo was dead or in some sort of serious trouble.

See, it was an odd line of events that led to her disappearing.

Actaully, the thing was, there WEREN'T any odd events. Echo and Adrian had a normal evening, as far as I knew, and the last anyone had heard from her was when she left the campfire the night she went missing. We found no evidence of a fight. She hadn't packed anything, her cabin was in order (sort of...she doesn't understand "tidy" too well) and nothing had been moved or misplaced.

She just...vanished.

"You're lying." Storm narrowed her electric eyes at me. Her eyes an her hair was how she got her name - both were a startling shade of sterling silver. She came to camp unconscious, and when she woke up, she had no recollection of who she was. We would have nicknamed her Lightning, but...that's just cheesy.

"No. Really, I'm fine." I prodded the grass with my feet as we walked. People could always tell where I had been because the grass and the plants always got a little greener when I was around.

"Is that why the flowers are wilting?" Storm laughed, shaking me back and forth. Sure enough, the lilies I was standing next to were turning brown and dying.

"Oh, so now I know that I don't need a mood ring." I grumbled. "Just...forget it, okay? She's fine." I raked a hand through my long brown hair and rubbed my tanned face before moving again.

"Mmmmhm." Storm's voice told me that she SO did not believe me, but that she was willing to drop it.

"Thank you!" I sang, squinting into the sunlight. My eyes were a funny shade of pale brown that most deemed as "beautiful" or "breath-taking", but I thought they were weird.

"Come on." Storm tugged on my arm with a slender hand. "Let's get some food."

Notes

Hmmmm....this is the VERY first thing that I've written on this site. I hope it's good!
