Just a little story
The ninth little story
I stumbled back, gasping. A line of drool dangled from the hellhound's jaw and I resisted the urge to reach up with a napkin and wipe it off. It growled and crept forward like a hound dog.
Somewhere inside of me I found the strength to stand. I wanted to back away, but something told me to stand up to the hellhound.
I gave in to the crazy notion and stared into the hellhound's dark, shadowy eyes. Then something in those eyes seemed to surrender to me.
It whimpered and backed down, laying on it's butt. I breathed again and Chiron looked on in shock.
Then it lept toward Isabel.
I acted on instinct I didn't know I had. I stretched my arm. Something shot from my hand like a bullet from a gun. A dark, long, shadow-formed whip. It wrapped around the hellhound and the hellhound opened it's mouth and seemed to scream in my head. The whip caused the hellhound to melt and I dropped to the ground, suddenly exhausted. The whip disappeared and I fell, uncouncious.
@Morningstar.
