The Ultimate Fangirl

The next day, I was pacing around my room after school. What was I gonna wear? How would I walk over to them? Would they like me? Right there, in the middle of my thoughts, I got a phone call.

"Hello? Adi?" I heard a familiar voice say.

"Echo? Yeah, it's me," I said cautiously into the receiver. I had a feeling it was going to happen. Wait for it...wait...I swear, it's gonna happen any-

"ADELINE GRACE FISHER! YOU DIDN'T EVEN TALK TO ME YESTERDAY! NO TEXTS, PHONE CALLS, NOTHING! I THOUGHT YOU GOT KIDNAPPED OR SOMETHING!" Echo screamed. I sighed. I wanted to tell her everything right then and there that had happened yesterday, but I had this gut feeling that wasn't such a good idea.

"Echo, I was sick yesterday," I pretended to sound tired. Luckily, she bought it pretty well.

"Aw...are you alright?"

"Yeah. I think so. Look, I have to go now."

"Bye Adi!" I could hear the sadness in her voice. "Wait. See you in an hour, Starbucks?"

I checked the time: 3:00 PM. I had to meet Percy and the others in an hour at the same place. "NO!" I shouted. Brianna told me I sounded mean, so I tried again. "I mean, I have, like, homework and stuff. Bye!" And I hung up.

I felt horrible for hiding something from my best friend. I flopped onto my bed and stared at the ceiling, letting the excitement overcome me again. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity!

After another half hour or so, I came up with the perfect outfit.
