The Blood of Titans

I wiped sweat off my forehead as I sat on my front steps waiting for my ride to this camp my dad told me about. These people were apparently ‘like me’. Whatever that meant.

After a while I saw a black, double cab pickup truck driving down the old, beaten up road. It stopped in front of my house and a young man with blond hair that was swiped across his brow jumped out. “Are you Minnie” He asked.

I nodded.

“Good, now let’s get going.” The blonde boy said as he picked up my bag from next to me.

I grabbed my backpack and got in the back seat of the truck as I found the passenger seat occupied by a pretty girl with mousy brown hair and green eyes.

“Hi.” Said the girl as she craned her neck to look at me, “I’m Lou-Ellen, and the boy is called Will.”

“I’m not a boy. I’m a man.” Will fake whined as he climbed in to the vehicle.

Lou-Ellen sighed, “Well anyways, we’re here to take you too camp.”

“It’s the only safe place for people like us uttered Will.

“What do you mean ‘people like us’?”
