The Son of Artemis

I backed away as Mason's mouth poured blue, black, and purple mist. His hair floated like he was underwater and it felt like time was stopping. Devin's arrow slowed like it was in syrup and Darren's screams were muffled. But I was fine! Mason looked at me and spoke in a woman's metallic voice. "Chloe... my dear..." I grabbed my knives and stood my ground. "Oh no no no honey. If you want to get rid of me now... it's Mason's battle. Just like his battle with my minion. Roman." I realized Mason had to get his stuff together in his mind to get rid of.... Melione... "Why are you doing this? Why do you want to destroy demigods?" Mason smiled with his eyes closed. "Dear you know I was a demigod too. My father, Zeus, decided to make me a goddess and my mother agreed. My father made me the goddess of ghosts and madness. I'm doing this so all demigods will die so I will have more subjects in my domain." I was stunned. "Now i'll have to kill your friends. You are trying to stop me aren't you?" Time returned to normal and Mason attacked.

Mason went for Darren first. Mason tackled him to the ground and the two started to battle each other. "Darren!" yelled Dawn. She stepped forward with her dagger but Mason threw his hand up and a wall of fire surrounded him and Darren. The heat knocked Devin backwards and he crashed into the wall. "My head!" Devin yelled. Darren had no weapon. His bow lay on the table. Dawn screamed as her sleeve caught on fire. Her face lit up and I knew she had an idea. She took a deep breath and screamed. Glass broke and dug into my back. I yelled and landed on the bed. Mulch from the hotel's garden covered Mason's ring of fire and made it dissapate. I Grabbed Mason by his shoulders despite the glass in my back. "Mason! Snap out of it!" His eyes were red and he tried to bite my fingers. Madness. I knew one thing that shut Mason up real quick. Despite my thought of Melione inside his body, I kissed him.

The real Mason said, "Chloe?" He staggered and fell to the ground. "Shut up you dirty demigod spawn!" Mason got up and slapped himself in the face. "Stop it!" He grabbed his head and screamed. Fire bursted from his body and enveloped the building. All of the demigods were flung outside. I landed in a tree which was on fire because of Mason. I looked around the town. Fire. That's all I saw. I jumped out of the tree. I heard a scream that yelled, "You dirty demigods! You will pay for this. You shall be betrayed by one who calls you a friend." Mason lay on the ground moaning. "CHLOE!!!!" I heard. Darren was in a car waving to her. "Hurry!" I grabbed Mason and ran to the car. When I got in, Darren stepped on it. We drove off from the burning city. A tear fell from my cheek and landed on Mason.

I eventually fell asleep and the rythym of the car helped.
