The Son of Artemis

Darren was driving the car on the interstate. I sat beside him in the passenger seat and his hand crept on the console. God, Darren was so cute. His tan skin with the white streak hair and the smile, oh god his smile.... I wanted to reach my hand over and grab his. I wanted to have a relationship with him like Chloe and Mason's. I looked back and saw Chloe asleep with Mason's head in her lap. Mason's face was covered with soot. I looked over at Devin who was on a tablet. The glow of the tablet radiated on his face. A grim expression settled on Devin's face. "What's wrong Devin?" I asked. He jumped and quickly said, "Oh.. uh... nothing just... the news of West Virginia." He looked away and closed his eyes. A tear fell from it. Darren put his hand on my leg. I blushed and looked at him. "It's gonna be okay." I smiled and fell asleep.


I woke up to Darren shaking me awake. "Dawn... Were gonna eat breakfest at cracker barrel." I woke up to see Darren and Devin standing beside the car. Darren had new clothes on. He had a sweater with oregon ducks on it and blue jeans. Devin had black pants on with a blue sweater with a white toboggan on. I looked at myself. My white top was ripped and my bra was ripped in places. "We got some clothes for you." said Devin. He pointed to the trunk. "We stopped at peebles." I smiled and took the clothes to change.

I sat down at our table once I was changed. A plate of pancakes sat in front of me with syrup dripping on the sides. "Hope you like pancakes!" said Darren. I smiled and picked up my fork. Mason was awake! "Mason!" I yelled. Everybody in the resturant looked at me. I sat down. "Hi dawn." Mason said. I smiled and kept on eating. Ten minutes of silence later Devin said "Oh no.." Darren said, "What?" Devin pointed out the window and Darren's face drooped. "Apollo..." said Devin. "Artemis..." said Darren. I looked out the window and saw two people. One had glowing blonde hair with an amazing tan and the other wore a silver dress with white hair. "Your parents!" Chloe said. The two gods looked and saw us. Apollo snapped his finger and Devin and Darren were gone.

I raced outside and saw Apollo talking to Devin and saw Artemis talking to Darren. I walked to Devin and put my hands on his shoulders. Tears fell from his cheek and onto the ground. Devin spoke to Apollo in a choky voice. "You didn't save my mom... HOW COULD YOU!!" Devin fell to the ground and started to shake while crying. Apollo ung his head down and spoke to Devin. "Devin... your mother was a kind lady. She even held herself against a cyclopes on our first date. I tried to save her when the hellhound attacked but..." Apollo sniffled a sob and he started to cry. Devin got up with puffy eyes. He looked at me and said in one commanding voice. "Dawn... go....." I opened my mouth but walked towards the entrance. Suddenly Darren's voice cracked through the air yelling "DAWN!!!!" Suddenly a blade was strung through my body. A voice rang through my head and said,


"Hey darling. Miss me?" Roman just stabbed me.
