The Son of Artemis

When I was talking to my mom I got annoyed. "Darren, me and your uncle have come to explain some family problems to you and your friend, Devin." I shook my head and said, "Okay. Then tell me about my dad. If you were supposed to be a frickin maiden goddess then why did you even go out with him? Much less have a child with him!" Artemis looked away and after about ten seconds she replied. "Your father was Lyce Clendale. He was a itelligent man and if I wasn't being controlled I probably would've fallen in love with him." I stared at the ground, then I realized what my mom said. "Controlled?" Artemis looked at me with sad eyes and a tear fell to the parking lot asphalt. I heard sobs to my right and saw Devin on the ground shaking with sobs while Dawn trying to comfort him. I seen Dawn walk away and I saw a figure on the roof. It had a tail, claws, fire hair and... a trench coat. Roman. He jumped from the roof with a knife and grabbed Dawn. "DAWN!!!" I yelled with tears in my eyes. I didn't want to lose Dawn. She was a good fighter, saved me from getting strangled by Mason, and... I loved her. Roman took the knife and sunk it into Dawn's chest. I screamed and fell to the ground.

Dawn screamed and started to sob. Roman turned and with evil laughter said, "HA!! Melione will rule Olympus and control all demigods! Beware of... The Black Sword!!!" Mason and Chloe emerged from the resturant and saw Roman. Roman hissed at Mason and attacked. Mason drew his sword and countered Roman's strike. Chloe was about to step in when Roman thrust his hand out while black mist circled it. Five hands grabbed Chloe and brung her to the ground. Devin looked at his dad. "Do something! Don't let this be like mom all over again!!" Apollo was stunned. Literally. He was not moving. He was stuck with a hand outstretched. I looked at Artemis. She was stuck too.

Darren. The voice was metallic and scraped inside his mind. Join me. One of your friends have already joined me. I have powerful power. I can even stun gods. The voice was cold, yet inviting. I can let you get revenge on the gods. Artemis? She will crumble. Camp Half Blood will crumble. When you return to that camp you will be rejected because you failed. You are a son of Artemis. A loner. Rejected from your kin. Suddenly I was about to say yes. But a girl's voice interrupted. "Melione really? Using charmspeak." A girl with short brown hair appeared. A spear was in her head. "Ava... you deal with that pest Roman. I'll help Darren." Then she jumped at me.

The girl tackled me too the ground. She smiled and winked at me then slapped me. I grabbed my cheek and said, "Hey!" The girl replied, "Hey! I'm helping you! And my friend, Ava, is helping your friend with the fire sword." Mason. The girl yelled with a powerful voice that made me shudder and melt at the same time said, "YO, GHOST GODDESS! GET OUT OF HERE!" Her voice was so powerful I was about to throw her off and get the heck out of there. The voice in my mind dissepated.

She helped me up and shook my hand. "Catalina Ziegler. Daughter of Venus. But you can call me Cat. The girl that just killed Roman is Ava Jasperse. Daughter of Victoria." I was dumbfounded. "The effect on Diana and Apollo should where off in five minutes." She put a piece of hair behind her ear and said, "What?" I replied, "Venus? Victoria?" She laughed. "Oh yeah! I forgot you guys are Greek! Venus is Aphrodite in rome, Victoria is Nike in Rome. An Diana is Artemis is Artemis in Rome. Now stop gaping your mouth and let's save your girlfriend!"

We rushed Dawn into the forest across from Cracker Barrel. Cat walked with moxie yet confidence. Ava was shy but had a serious look on her face as she talked to Devin about the condition of Dawn. "Devin, is Dawn going to be okay?" Devin pursed his lips. His face was red from crying. He held Dawn in his arms. "I'm no healer or as good as Will Solace but I'm pretty sure a knife in your chest isn't good." He set her down in a clearing. "Okay. In MY orientation Chiron said if you're a son of Apollo then sing a healing hymn to heal." Me and Chloe said in usion, "THEN. SING." Devin threw his hands up and closed his eyes. He sang in a soft voice:

In the name of Pheobus Apollo,
The magic shall flow through your veins,
The power, the medicine.

Sunlight shot through the trees and birds chirped.

In the name,
it shall heal,
it shall become true
the recovery.

Dawn's eyes flew open. The hole in her chest closed and the blood was gone. She looked around and said one word; "Darren!" She flew in my arms and kissed me. Her lips were soft and I deepened the kiss. As we stood there Cat said, "On that happy note. Should I mention that me and Ava have to go on your quest with you?"
