The Son of Artemis

The capsule rose. Lights sped past me and I curled up and started to cry. I never cried! When I was sad I usually just looked at the person that upset me and they shut up. The tears fell from my eyes and fell on the capsule's floor. Devin! How could he betray us like that!? He didn't seem like the scared type, or a coward type... Melione! She bribed him! Suddenly the capsule stopped and a door opened in the ceiling. The first thing I saw was... Devin! His eyes were puffy and red. He'd been crying. He wasn't dressed in his blue jacket and black pants anymore, he had a crown on with a white cape on. He had white everything on exept the crown. His red hair shined in the sunlight. "Ava..." he said and opened the capsule. I stepped out and looked at him. He said one word when I looked at him. Sorry.

He looked at me and said, "Ava. Melione! I had too! She said she would bring my mom back! Anyway one of the executives said taking you hostage with my half brother, Will Solace, and that daughter of Hera girl would make the demigods come after you and them so we could destroy anyone that gets in our way! We will distinguish any hope that will rebel against us!" He said it with confidence but I could sense his heart breaking inside. "Devin... just tell me why." Tears welled up in his eyes and he broke down. He fell to the floor while tears fell onto the carpet. "I was scared okay!! I was afraid we would lose the war! So when I fell asleep in the car ride from West Virginia, Melione appeared to me. She taunted me! So, Charles messaged me on my tablet of being king and I... just... couldn't resist." Then he got up and did something totally weird. He kissed me.

Devin's lips touched mine and I opened my eyes wide. About ten seconds later a person come in. Devin broke the kiss as soon as he walked in. The woman bowed and said, "Sire Devin, we need you to make your speech so your 'friends' can hear you." Devin nodded and shoved me back into the capsule. Devin said these words while looking at me with sad eyes. "Send to announcement hall." The capsule closed and sped to a different room. To a different life. A different war.

I shot an arrow at Charles while Cat started firing the gun. Charles laughed and spoke in a walkie-talkie. Suddenly five more demigods appeared with swords and spears. "Stercore!" yelled Cat. Which I detected the word shit in latin. Dawn charged with her knife and stabbed a kid in the chest and body slammed him. Man I loved her! I yelled at Mason while fending of a kid with my bow, "Where's Devin and Ava?" Mason yelled back, "Well, Devin is the king of the black sword and he captured Ava." I cringed. Devin? A traitor? I knocked the kid in the chest and shot a arrow. Chloe was fending off two more with her knives. I aimed a arrow at one of their heads and fired. Then I felt a pain in my chest and looked down at my chest. A gold blade penetrated my chest. A voice whispered in my ear. "Game over. Son of Artemis." Charles. He stabbed me. Then he fell to the ground and I heard Cat say, "Well look who's had a bad game now. Bitch." She shot him in the head. I fell to the ground.

I heard Dawn saying my name and she was looming over me. "GUYS!!" Chloe rushed over to me and said, "Oh god Darren! I think Lou Ellen from the Hecate cabin gave me some magic healing potion!" She rushed over to her bag and came back with a purple potion and made me drink it. I felt better! I got up. "Look. We can't save Ava and the others now.There's too many members. We'll come back after we go to Camp Half Blood. " Cat was suprised. "Go to a different camp! No! And Ava might be in trouble!" I put a hand on cat's shoulder and said, "Cat, Ava is a daughter of Victoria. She can handle herself." Cat shrugged me off and agreed. We walked out of Amazon and got a bus to Manhattan with the rest of our money.


I am the Son of Artemis. We will win this war. We will not fail. We are demigods. Together we stand. United, good or bad.
