The Son of Artemis

I sprinted down the staircase with Ava and Devin behind me. The fire from my sword illuminated the staircase and I could see little cameras filming us. "The door on the left!" yelled Devin when we came to two doors. My mind raced. "How do you know?" Devin yelled back, "Just trust me!". I nodded and opened the door on the left. A storage room filled with boxes lay before us. I heard footsteps coming down the steps and I said, "Hide!" Devin grabbed Ava's hand and sprinted towards a pile of boxes. I did the same but in an opposite direction. Two members of the black sword pushed two bodies onto the floor. A boy with wet blonde hair was choking on something and a girl with black hair was shivering on the hard concrete. "Stay here until the king decides what he wants to do with you two!" The member slammed the door shut and locked it. I ran to the two bodies on the floor and turned them over. The boy! "Will Solace?"

Will breathed a raspy breath and spoke. "H-h-hey Mason... I-I- uh..." Will then started to hurl and I backed away. The girl started crying and shaking more. Will said, "This is Haley Kingsley. A-a- daughter of Hera." Ava screamed, "JUNO!!" Will smiled, "You must be a roman." "How?" asked Ava. "Same way I guess how Darren was born." said Will. Suddenly the door slammed open and four men walked in. The middle one had a shaggy beard and black hair. "Demigods! Hello! Now how about we step away from the two captives or else it's gonna be two on four." I asked, "Two on four?" Devin stepped forward and said, "Mason... I'm sorry but... I am the king of The Black Sword." The man tossed Devin to the side and he fell to the ground. "Wait!" he yelled. The man snarled, "You took the oath to carry out the actions of Melione for a better world for demigods. You are king!" Devin frowned and walked to the door and mouthed one word to me. Sorry.

The men attacked. I drew my sword and stood in front of Will while Ava drew her staff. A man took out a spear and jabbed at me but I parried the strike and sliced at his armor. Ava charged with amazing speed while two men had swords and were about to strike but she went behind them and kicked them in the back. I went back to my man and threw a fireball. He dodged and it hit the wall. He charged again but Ava hit him in the head with her staff. Three were unconsious. One more. "Good job!" the man that threw Devin said. "Allow me to introduce myself. The name is Charles. Beckendorf. I understand Mason here is my brother." He laughed and drew a golden sword while black flames danced around the blade. "Sorry but I have to do this. So I can get my Silena back!" Then he charged.

Ava screamed a war scream and pushed a button on her staff. It broke in half and lay on the ground. Charles laughed, "Really?" Then chains connected the two pieces and the two pieces started to spark. Ava got out rubber gloves and picked up her nunchucks. "Yes. Really." She swung at Beckendorf and he was shocked. Literally. He fell to the ground and growled. "I understand your a daughter of the victory goddess. But you won't win this time." He got up and grabbed Ava by the shoulders. I screamed "Ava!" and charged. He flicked me away with the bulging muscles. He took Ava to a capsule and locked her in. She scratched at the walls and started to scream. "Take capsule 4783 to king Devin's room." The capsule started to rise and Ava was gone. She was gone. "Now Mason. It's your turn." He spoke a command word to his sword and black sprites came to me. Before they hit me a silver arrow whizzed by and killed all of them. I looked at the door and saw Darren holding his bow. He smiled and said, "Quest members have to stick together. Besides, Mason has had enough injuries for one quest. Now 'Charles' bring Ava back or face the wrath of...

Beckendorf smiled. "I'm afraid I can't do that, Darren Clendale." Darren smiled. "Okay, Cat?" Cat jumped into the doorway with a gun. "Probably shouldn't leave cases full of guns with castelial bronze bullets in them." Charles frowned and said, "CAPSULES! TAKE OUR OTHER PRISONERS TO CELLS B456 AND C375!" Two capsules grabbed Will and Haley and took them up. "Okay scum," He raised his sword. "Let's fight." Chloe and Dawn emerged with Cat and Darren. "Okay," said Dawn, "Mason? You fighting?" I smiled and walked toward them. "Heck yes!" and with that we charged.
