The Son of Artemis

"So, what's the plan? Shouldn't we have gone with Mason, Ava, and Devin into Amazon?" said Darren. Cat put her hands on her hips and turned around. She gave Darren a look that said 'Do you really want to question me?' We walked on a busy street with bustiling shoppers and vacationers. "Coffee!" yelled Dawn. We were in front of a shop named Xonster Coffee. "Xonster?" said Darren. "Well it's coffee and I'm dying for a blueberry crescent." Dawn walked in and Cat shrugged. "Well, we have to be at the museum here in at least twenty minutes." So we all walked into Xonster coffee.

I ordered some hot chocolate and a donut and sat down. Darren and Dawn sat in the back to eat and probably make out. I wish Mason was here. Fighting enemies in Amazon would be cooler than a dusty museum. Cat sat down in the chair next to mine and smiled as she took a sip from her coffee. "How's it doin' sweet cheeks?" I hunkered down a little at the nickname and asked, "Sweet Cheeks?" Cat laughed, "Chloe! It's a nickname! Anyway, I've heard a lot about your camp. What's so special about it?" I smiled. "When I first got to camp I was eleven. I got claimed instantly and was shoved into the Athena cabin. Annabeth was a nice girl and she helped me with classes. The funniest moment was when I caught Percy Jackson and Annabeth shoving each others tongues in each others mouths." Cat smiled, "Percy Jackson? He was at Camp Jupiter for awhile. Children of Neptune aren't really liked in Camp Jupiter. Anyway, I first arrived at Camp Jupiter when I was twelve. I wasn't claimed as a daughter of Venus until one week later. I was accepted into the Liegon and put in the third cohort. Me and Ava and a guy named Jack were supposed to come help you guys." Jack?" Cat frowned, "A son of Mars and a weakling at that too. I could put him down in wrestling all the time. He died from a rock slide in Toronto." Suddenly the coffee shop shook and the ceiling cracked. I drew my knives and looked around. Just then a voice boomed in the shop. "DEMIGODS! BOW DOWN BEFORE MELIONE'S SERVANT! JACK GALLANT!" A figure shimmered behind the counter. Cat choked a sob. "Jack?" He looked at Cat and said, "Yes Cat. I'm back. And I want to kill ALL of you. Including him" He pinted to DArren and Jack Gallant yelled. "FOR MELIONE!! THE SON OF ARTEMIS SHALL DIE!!!" Then he charged at Darren and Dawn.

I ran after Jack with my knives and tackled him but ended up lying on the floor. He's a ghost! Cat said he died! Darren took out his silver bow and let a arrow fly, but it passed through him. "What the-" said Darren as he was tackled by Jack. Jack raised a carving knife and yelled, "DIE SON OF ARTEMIS!" When he was about to bring the knife down Cat yelled, "JACK!" Jack looked at her. "Jack... if you don't kill Darren I will tell Hades to let you in Elysium." Jack smiled and said, "You think I'm going to forgive you for letting me die in Toronto? Where's Ava anyway? Did you let her die too?" Cat said in a pleading voice, "Please Jack..." Jack started yelling when I came to a idea. If Jack is a ghost? Then objects that are ghosts can hurt him and send him to the underworld! I took my knife and broke it in two. I concetrated on seeing the essence of my knife. A green image of my knife appeared and I grabbed it. I winked at Cat and snuck up to Jack. I stabbed him. "GAAHHHH!" Jack yelled. He fell to the ground and started to glow gold. Jack smiled and said words that chilled me to the bone:

"HA!! Before I face the judges again I want to get one last laugh! You know that traitor in your phrophecy? I know who it is. And his name is Devin McQuain! He is the king of the black sword! Theres no Garret!!"

Jack exploded into a shower of gold.

One line hung in my head: The traitor shall betray, he will be the king.
We all looked at each other. And we frowned. "Ava!! said Cat and she ran out the door.
