The Son of Artemis

Terry was munching on spaghetti that he stole from the cafeteria before the whole 'Julie was a blood thirsty monster!' thing. We sat in the middle of the woods while Terry frowned and shook his head. I looked at him with a skeptical look. "Terry. How did Julie become that...thing?!" I asked him as I ate my spaghetti. Terry frowned and sighed, "Do you know the Greek gods and myths?" he asked me. I replied, "Yeah. Like Zeus and Aphrodite, and monsters like the Minotaur!" Terry slapped his hand over my mouth. "Hey!" I shouted. Terry whispered, "Names have power Darren... and the less you know now the safer you'll be. Right now I can tell you that the gods are real. They moved here because of western civilization." I looked at him with one of my famous 'you better explain this later' look. Terry said, "I should also show you this," He struggled under the blankets he stole. When he showed me his legs; they weren't legs. "YOU'RE A GOAT???!!" I screamed. Terry shushed me. "I'm a satyr, half man and half goat." I sighed, "Terry... I'm going to sleep. Where are we going anyway?" Terry looked at me with a serious look, "A safe place." Then Terry snuggled under the blankets and a minute later, I heard snoring. I laid in my blankets and thought about Julie and where Terry was taking me. I had to trust Terry! He was my best friend! Even though him being a goat explains why during sleepovers he would eat half his pillow. Eventually, I fell asleep.

I had a dream. A weird one. I was standing in a hole, the moon above me. I heard a womanly voice call to me saying, "Darren. No matter how hard it may be, take the quest. You wont fit in amongst your kind. A quest is what you need. You need to save my uncle and defeat the ghost goddess." The moon shined fainter and green light circled around me. Whispering things in my ear. I screamed and I woke in a cold sweat.

Terry was dragging me when I woke up. "Dude!" I struggled and broke free. I brushed leaves off my sweater and got leaves out of my hair. "How far have you been dragging me?" I asked him. He smiled and answered, "From the woods of Mannhattan to here!" He pointed to a sighn but with my dyslexia it said, Camp Half Blood. Terry walked into a invisible border ans when I walked through it went Whoosh! My knees felt weak. My eyes rolled into the back of my head. The last thing I heard was, "Get WILL SOLACE AND CHIRON!!!" Then I passed out.
