Annabeth sat on the cold floor of cabin six. Maybe it was a nightmare.... Maybe she could wake up and Percy would still be hers. No. It was real. Perseus Jackson, the love of her life, was cheating on her with Thalia Grace. And Thalia knew it too.
Annabeths POV
It was freezing in my cabin. The hardwood floor was ice cold but I didn't care. At this point I, Annabeth Chase, do not care if I fall into a pit of ice and freeze to death. I could care less. My best friend was cheating on me with my other best friend. The two people I trusted most, were making out and didn't care if I was freezing my behind on cabin six's floor. Thalia Grace knew I was dating Percy. She knew 100%. But I saw it. Maybe I was wrong. Why would they have their faces pressed together though? Maybe it wasn't Percy and Thalia. No, it was definitely Thalia. Maybe it wasn't Percy. I'm 89% sure it was Percy. Not a lot but I still can't picture it. Why? Was I not good enough. Rage swept over me. I was mad. Mad at Thalia, mad at Percy, mad at me, mad at everything! I had to get up and face the world though. So I stood up and brushed of the front of my shirt. After walking out of my cabin, I immediately went back in for my sunscreen. It was not below 32 degrees, it was above 90! I guess the floor wasn't the thing that was cold. After lathering a generous amount, I spotted Percy. He spotted me too. I tried to walk back in my dark, cold cabin but i was too late. Percy had grabbed my hand and pulled me back out. I snatched my hand away. You should have seen his face. I never not let him hold my hand. He looked so surprised. I glared at him for a moment before turning back around and walking into my underworld. Percy followed me.
"Hey! What wrong baby?" He asked.
"Nothing, go away." It came out pretty sharp. Too bad.
"Annabeth? Hey is it so dark in here? Why are you shaking? WHY THE HELL IS THERE A BLADE ON YOUR NIGHTSTAND?" He yelled, running over to the blade.
Oh yeah, I had also come pretty close to death earlier. Me and Mr blade had an affair today.
He ran over to me and picked up my wrist to examine. I let him. Let him know what he did to me, that is. He gasped when he saw my cuts. They weren't big because me and Mr blade didn't love each other THAT much. My eyes swelled as he found my other wrist and then my stomach and then the back of my leg. I started to sob. I wanted to sob into his shoulder but I held my head up. I did have the thoughts on ending it. I didn't though. Percy tried to hold me, but I turned. "Annabeth! What is going on?" He asked.
"Like you don't know!" I replied.
"I don't! I really don't!"
"Just leave me alone! Leave me alone to die!"
"No! Annabeth-"
"Shut up! Just shut up!"
"Annabeth, i'm so confused!"
I guess im lucky that my siblings weren't here.
"No your not!"
"Annabeth!"
"You really don't know, do you?" My voice softened now.
"Not a clue!"
"You and Thalia!"
"You saw that?" He asked. I could feel him blushing even though my back was facing him.
"Yea, I did!" I said.
"Listen Annabeth, That was a set up that me and Thalia both didn't want to get into. Clarisse taped it and her friends pushed us together! I swear on the River Styx!" He said.
"Get Clarisse to show me the video." I said.
"Okay,"He said. "Be right back."
He left and I sat on the floor again, my head spinning. I really hope this is true.
Percy came back about five minuets later with Clarisse. She sighed and without a word, she pulled out her phone and showed me a video of confused Thalia and Percy standing by each other with Clarisses' buddies surrounding them. In an instant, one one them pushed Percy inward and the other did so with Thalia. Their lips entwined for a little more than half a second. They both looked disgusted and Clarisse was laughing in the background. Her buddies had fled right after pushing the two. I guess that's why I thought... I looked at Percy and hugged him. Clarisse left us alone. We kissed for a minuet and then I apologized for accusing him. "Promise that you will never cut yourself again!" He said.
"Promise."
"I love you wise girl."
"I love you too, seaweeed brain."
This takes place two months after the first kiss in the first chapter.
