The Fanatic Chronicles Podcast

Introduction

Greetings to all those who still believe, this is….Myra, what are what are we calling this?

((It was your job to find a name, Danny. You didn’t? Really, sweetie, let’s just admit right now that I do all the work around here. It’s like you don’t even try.))

That’s Myra, everyone. You’d better get used to her voice, seeing as she’s apparently going to be doing most of the talking as well.

((Hey!))

Joking, Myra! Anyways, where were we? Oh yeah, introductions. My name’s--

((Everyone, this is Danny Piatek. Pee-ah-tech. His last name means ‘Friday’ in Polish, and that’s about the most interesting thing you’ll ever need to know about him.))

Very funny, Myra Hale. I could do your cute little Scottish accent but it might make you sound like the Shrek you look like. OW! STOP! OW! Jeez, Myra. I know you like that pocketknife but you didn’t need to beat over the head with it!

((You’re lucky I didn’t unfold the blade, sweetheart.))

Okay, can we get on with this? Thank you. Greetings to all who still believe. This is...the Fanatic Chronicles. There, that’s a good name. It’s nothing if not the truth. You see, as much as Myra and I might have our differences, what with my being introverted and somehow athletic, and her being…

((Go on. I dare you to say it.))

I was going to say…okay, I won’t! Just stop looking at me like that! Look, the bottom line is that with our obvious differences, we both have one thing in common: we love Percy Jackson.

((Yeah, which is the only reason why I’m doing this. I’m not even your friend, honey.))

Funny, Myra. So, introductions. We both go to the same high-school in DC. It’s We both actually met in the Library. One of the few times I’ve ever gone in there.

((Because you’re a dumb jock?))

Shut it, I don’t go in there because…you know why.

((‘cause your crush is always in there, and you’re too much of a wuss to make a move on her. Is that it, Danny? Pfft, boys.))

MYRA! I swear if you say any more--

((What’re you gonna do, man? Hit me? I’d snap your arm quicker than--))

Yeah, yeah, I’ve heard that before. Come up with better threats. Anyways, I was in the Library, casually reading The Last Olympian when Myra walked in and saw what I was reading. We hit it off from then, and I guess that’s where our story starts.

((I don’t know if you remember that day as well as I do, sweetie, but I believe I asked you whether or not that was the most complex book you had ever read, if I’m correct.))

Yes, you did do that. So we took a while to become good friends, but that’s fine. Ugh, you need to stop interrupting and let me talk for a little.

((Fine, Mr. High Horse Demititan!))

Okay, I’m sorry. But you know that it’s not my fault Menoetius couldn’t keep it in his godly pants! I am trying to record the introduction here. Speaking of which, we actually have no idea whether or not these recordings, or podcasts, or whatever, will get out there. Leo gave us these microphones and recording stuff, and hopefully it doesn’t blow up in our faces. Hopefully he wasn’t lying when he said that these things were undetectable by monsters and other...stuff that we might not want prowling around the studio.

((You call this a studio? HAHAHAHAHA. I was wondering what your basement was called on the floor plan. Well, buddy, thanks for letting me into your studio.))

So yeah. “This is our story,” and all that. Zeus knows it’s a crazy one, and I can truthfully say that it’s the best one I’ve been a part of. Despite that, it does start a bit weirdly. And if you’re a fan of the Percy Jackson series, you’ll know that weird can mean literally anything.

This is the story of how we ended up at Camp Half-Blood. Our stories were turned from fantasy to non-fiction real quick. This is the story of how we ran from New York to Sonoma Valley in two weeks. This is our story, how we were the only the ones who could save a friend.

We could say we rose to become more than who we are, but that would be a blatant lie. We just did what we had to. This is for all who still believe.

Signing off,
The Fanatics.

Notes

Hey! So this is a new project Echo and I are working on, and it in short is the podcast of a couple kids who slipped into the world of their favorite book series. I hope you like the podcast form with the parentheses for the other person's words, as it will have a role to play in the upcoming chapters/episodes of the podcast. pjovoices.tumblr.com should do this thing lol.

Enjoy,
Grafon

Lol I wrote most of the parts for that chapter, and I'm not on the RP, so that's a happy coincidence I guess. EDIT: Echo didn't immediately murder me for how badly I wrote Myra, so I guess I didz goodz.
