The Original Character Court

Adrian Field

My first class isn't until 10 but my girlfriend's is at 8 which is why I'm already awake and bored.

Submitted by: StoryMail
Basics
Name: Adrian Field
Age: 15
Gender: Male
Birthday: November 17th
Ethnicity: Caucasian
Hair color: Light Brown
Eye color: Light Brown
Height: 5' 11"
Weight: 175 lbs
[Um... he's overweight]
Other physical descriptions: Fairly muscular build from lots of training, calloused fingers and minor scars from working with his hands a lot. Has a weathered look to his face, having spent a lot of time outdoors.
[He's be a little towards the end of the healthy spectrum but not overweight]
Sexual orientation: Homosexual
Godly parent: Demeter
[Ah. Field. Cute]
Mortal parent: Richard Field

Personality
Positive traits: Usually quiet and reserved, Adrian is usually a great person to have a conversation with. He's extremely approachable, and everyone inherently seem to like him. He's not terribly smart, but he is quite observant, and tends to be a good judge of character. While he can be quite melancholy at times, it's never enough to bring down the mood of those around him. He's also quite kind, and is a very accepting person.
[Makes sense. Real enough.]

Negative traits: Adrian can be very insecure about many parts of him, including his parentage, physical appearance, and sexuality. Despite being a perceptive person, he sometimes fails to see acceptance and friendship when it faces him. He is generally very resentful about his lot in life, but manages to deal with it well enough. He can be too passive about defending himself, rarely responding to insults unless they're directed at other people, at which point he gets too aggressive.
[Complements the quiet and reserved.]

Fears/Phobias: Rejection. Adrian's insecurities lead him to fear his peers and teachers not accepting him, or not liking/appreciating him. This is especially bad when he actually IS rejected, and it really gets to him, for days at a time.

Being useless. Adrian's godly powers don't exactly grant him combat prowess, and he feels insecure about how little he can do compared to other demigods. He tries to make up for it with effort, dedicating much of his time to weapons training, almost obsessing with it, but deep down he still fears he isn't good enough.

[Everything here makes sense.]

Fatal Flaw: Insecurity. Adrian is fairly easy to manipulate, because he finds it hard to love himself and give his actions meaning. He often doesn't care about what happens to him, and tries to block out people's opinions of him for fear of rejection (which is hard, because he's perceptive).
[Fits the personality. Nice one.]

Combat-related questions
Camp: Half-Blood
Weapon of choice: A curved sword made of Imperial Gold,
[Why Imperial Gold? I mean, Greeks use Celestial Bronze. Romans use Imperial Gold.]
very similar to the one his mother wields. It was a gift from Demeter given to him after (as a quest) he saved a small farming community from a lynx named Lynkos, who Demeter had tangled with in the pass when it attacked Tryptolemus (this is Greek mythology here). Adrian practices with the sword constantly, trying to make up for what he views as weak divine powers.

Other weapons: Adrian is also fairly adept at archery.

Powers and Abilities: Adrian has an especially strong control over how plants grow. He can also grant fertility to the earth, allowing plants to grow where they could not grow before. Minor control over the weather and season for small areas aids in his control over agriculture. He is naturally gifted at activities that take place in the outdoors, and is extremely adept at things like wilderness survival.

His abilities are a fair amount stronger than he realizes, since Demeter is one of the Elder Olympians, and quite powerful.
[Not too overpowered, not under-powered. Explained quite well.]

Backstory: Adrian grew up in North Dakota alongside his father. They were successful farmers, and had a good relationship. Unfortunately as soon as Adrian began to mature, more and more strange things began to happen to him, and after he came back from school one day, he found his house smashed to pieces and on fire. There was nothing he could do except sit down in the middle of a field and cry. Before too long, the drake that had attacked his house returned, and the eleven-year old ran for his life, only managing to escape thanks to the aid of Wesley, a friend of his that turned out to be a satyr. The two were tracked across the country as they raced for Camp Half-Blood, but managed to outrun the drake and get to camp (in large part thanks to Adrian's mother, who watched over his progress).
[Sounds pretty okay, actually. Not that long but says enough.]

Comments:
Not much to say but for a positive reason. This OC was well-balanced just some small details that need to be changed (see height-weigh ratio and the Imperial Gold weapon). But besides those, you're good.

Final judgement: Elysium
