Tears and Flowers

Journey

I sat up on the back of Mrs. O' Leary as the demigods that had rescued me explained what a demigod was. They also explained that a simple satyr could not do this job, because I needed to be taken during school hours, as I didn't trust anyone that I hadn't been friends with for a while. I wanted to argue, even though they new I was right. I still couldn't believe I was the daughter of Hestia.

Not that there was anything wrong with it, but I didn't think I was a Hestia-type person.

I waited in silence as the long journey from my home in Washington state to the Long Island Sound began. Eventually, night came, and they unpacked several bundles I hadn't noticed in the coarse fur of Percy's pet hellhound. They contained money, tents, and gold brownies they told me were ambrosia, and apple juice that was apparently nectar. The girls all slept in one tent, while the boys slept in another. I curled up in one of the corners, and made myself a nest of blankets, and slid a package of gummy bears out of my pockets, and ate a few, then realized that it would be much more enjoyable with a book to read. Annabeth had told me she loved to read, so I figured she would have a book or two with her. After carefully poking around her pack, I found what I wanted. A book on Greek myths and a flashlight. If I was the only living daughter of Hestia, I'd better find out what she was about.

Notes

Well! I got one request on here to continue, and one from a friend who doesn't have an account, but I will still be updating less frequently than I will on my other stories. Thanks!

oh. I feel bad for you. I have two friends that are huge fans, two that know what I'm talking about, a little brother who read the first three in the first series then stopped, a friend whose going to read them as soon as she reads Harry Potter, and one friend I'm trying to persuade to read them. so I'm in pretty good company.
