Insanity

Chapter Two

"Percy? Percy! Hey, has anyone seen Percy around?" Annabeth walked through camp, looking high and low for the camp's legendary hero. Bystanders just shook their head and shrugged. Annabeth sighed and continued on through camp, footsteps kicking up dust as she looked around for the missing hero.

"Percy, where in the world are you?!" A long yawn from the branches of a tree behind her met her answer, the boy in question dipping a head down and gazing at Annabeth from an upside-down position, "Nhf. What, Annabeth? What is it that is so important that you've got to interrupt my napping?"

The blonde gave an irritated sigh, "Now you know just why in making a fuss in finding' you! You said you were going train some new campers in the Arena nearly two hours ago! Instead, I find you out here, in a tree, snoozin your little behind off!"

Percy gave a groan, slipping out of the tree and landing on his feet. He looked more disheveled than usual, his hair a mess, dark bags under his eyes from many sleepless nights. He looked pale, sickly almost, yet still tried to put on an air of cheerfulness. He heaved a yawn before giving a dismissive wave to Annabeth, "Yeah, yeah... *yawn ...I'll get to it right now... Sorry."

As as the demigod turned and began walking, Annabeth tilted her head and gave a little frown, "Uh, Percy? You feeling okay? You look a little... Under the weather."

Percy shrugged his shoulders, "M'fine." Was the only response from the teenager.

Annabeth put a hand on his shoulder, "You sure about tha-"

She was cut off by the boy suddenly jerking away from Annabeth, his eyes going wide, "DON'T... Don't... Touch me. I'm fine... Honest... Just..." He nearly spilled the beans right then and there... But refrained. He couldn't take the chance that his girlfriend might think different of him because he was scared out of his mind every night by some stupid nightmare. His body gave a little shiver, as Annabeth looked on with concern.

"I Uh... I mean... gotta go!" Before Annabeth could say anything further, Percy was off like a rocket towards the Arena.

Annabeth scratched her head, thinking hard.
