Waiting for Seasons

Winter, spring, summer, fall The seasons seem to crawl right on by, and I dare to sigh as I constantly wait for their return I’m left always to yearn for cold when it’s hot and hot when it’s not and all the leaves all rot beneath my feet with it a lovely treat of fresh, cold air blowing away every care, but then it turns cold and I hold my jacket tighter as the sky gets brighter I wish for warmth and the return of the ‘splish’ of water as it flows along, the current swift and strong As the Earth warms up and gup- pies return, but I then yearn for the cold and not having to hold my hair back and when the branches crack under the weight of the snow as the seasons go by I always ask why I have to wait for the seasons Why wait for the seasons?
