The Afterlife

Today was Percy and Annabeth's Funeral. It was held in the dining pavilion since the whole camp was going. Even though this wasn't my fault, I still feel guilty and I miss them already. I miss Percy's sassy smile and Annabeth's sarcasm. It feels like a part of me is gone. And it's because of me. I had a long talk with Piper last night. Basically, it went down like this:

"Piper?" I had asked.

"Yes, Jason?" She replied. She looked sad.

"I feel like this is my fault, I feel so guilty and stupid," I said.

"Hey Jason, none of this is your fault. You need to remember it was Tartarus, you had no control over what you were doing,"

"But..." I was interrupted by a kiss.

So that's basically what happened. We talked for a while after that. But now it's the funeral, and I don't think I can tolerate being there. But, I went anyways.

All of the camp was there, including the Seven. Athena and Poseidon were also there. This was the first time I have ever seen them in a room together and not fighting. They also both had tears in their eyes. Percy and Annabeth shared a casket, it was sort of like two caskets combined. There hands were intertwined. It was an open casket. Everyone went over to pay their respect. All of the Seven were crying, including myself. We stayed there for the longest, along with Athena and Poseidon. I took Piper's hand and we walked to the tables, there was one reserved for the Seven, right in front. Poseidon started talking.

"Percy Jackson was a fighter, a true definition of bravery. He was kind, funny, and loving. My favorite son. A hero of Olympus. He will never be forgotten,"

Next, Athena spoke. "Annabeth Chase was one of the smartest, most clever and loyal demigods there is. She was brave, independent and smart. She was my favorite daughter and she will be missed by everyone. She will
never be forgotten."

Next, us Seven, or five I guess, were called up to do our joint speech. I had it memorized but I was still about to be sick. Piper started.

"Percy and Annabeth were heroes," she said.

"They were madly in love and would do anything for each other," Leo stated. Wow he's actually being serious for once, I thought.

"Even fall into Tartarus," Hazel said.

Now it was my turn. I was sweating like crazy. I had to most to say and I definitely noticed the dirty looks from all the campers.

"Percy and Annabeth were fighters. They never gave up," I started. "So why did they have to have such a tragic end? I know, you all think it's my fault. And that's totally understandable. I am as sad as you all. Tartarus had taken over my body, I had no control, but I can't help thinking that this is my fault. I will greatly miss Percy and Annabeth," Phew, I did it. I went off from the script a little, but I did it. Piper squeezed my hand. I was glad to have her.

"Percy and Annabeth will be missed by all," Frank finished.

After this, we all had dinner in their honor. After the dinner, Piper, Leo, Hazel, Frank, Athena, Poseidon, and I all brought the casket, now closed and covered with flowers and notes to an area right outside the woods. We placed it right there so nobody would forget about them. One by one, people started leaving. Piper and I were the last ones left. We both cried.

ll Annabeth's POV ll

Why? That's all I have to ask. Why did it end like this? Percy and I had a future. And now it was all crushed. I sat in our new home in Elysium and started to cry. Percy put his arm around me. It felt comforting.

"Percy, I feel horrible," I started. "I don't think I can ever get used to it. I miss everyone already. I just wanna go home," It felt good to let everything out. As I cried, Percy, being the amazing person he is, tried to make me feel better.

"Wise girl, it's a lot to process, but I swear on the River Styx that I will always be here for you. Now, how about we go for a walk through Elysium?" He asked.

I nodded and we set off. I stared at everything holding Percy's hand. Soon, I saw a girl sitting, staring at the sky. She looked SO familiar.

"Silena?!"
