The Immortality Trials (On Hold)

I can't see what's in front of me. In fact I can't see anything at all. The whole room is dark and cold. The concrete floor is damp and hard. I have a numb butt and I’m very confused as to how I got here. The last thing I remember was getting told about the immortality trials with Percy and the others.

I hear a moan of pain coming from someone else and realise that i’m not in here alone. Yet I’m not even sure where I am or how I got here. I sit there dazed for a little while trying to find my bearings and figure out what to do next. I then hear my name being yelled from quite a while away. It's faint but strong. I recognise it to be Percy’s voice!

“Percy!” I yell in excitement wanting him to come towards me. I hear some boots hitting the floor and getting louder so I keep calling so he can keep following my voice. I stand up so that I can try see more but there is still only just enough of a glow to see a little around me.

All of a sudden they start to flicker, the lights do. It’s slowly getting lighter. I start to see more and I realise that everyone is in this large concrete room. I see no exit and nothing but concrete and people.

How on earth did I get here and how on earth am I getting out?

It’s been two hours and the group of us are still stuck in this ‘basement’. Percy obviously knows more than he's letting on because he's always got this look of regret or knowing on his face but he only lets it slip occasionally. Usually he has a hard stone face of confusion, the one we're all used to.

“Hey Annabeth you're the Athena kid, what do you think.” Thalia suddenly shouts.

“Um,” I say not sure wether to point out Percy or not. I really want to know what he's thinking but he may be keeping it a secret for a reason. “I think that were already in the immortality trials. Some sort of magic is obviously keeping us here so i’m guessing that's what's going on here.” I say hesitantly. Everyone looks to me and start nodding as they agree to what I was saying.

“So if this is already the trials then see ya.” Aaron Smith, Nike’s entry yells running off to find his own way out of the ‘arena’. A few other kids look at each other and nod before running off after him. Butch Evans, Henry Caven and Sophie Jones. I’m guessing they believe that believe that the son of Nike will get them out of this mess and ahead in the competition.

Shayne Smith, Poppy Dill and Lou Ellen Cassin then group together to try help themselves. Leaving Percy, Frank, Hazel, Jason, Leo, Nico, Piper, Reyna, Thalia, Will and I alone. I guess we’re still in the biggest group though. Together we may have a chance at winning this
