The (mis)adventures of David Banner

Kira

Dave and Kira had gon back to her house. "So, you still have the old cabin in the woods?"
"Yep. After awhile, Minnie moved out and we haven't seen each other in awhile but I keep in touch. What about you?"
Dave looked down, kinda ashamed. "Well, when I went to Camp year round, I kinda just lost contact."
"Didn't try and iris message or anything?" She walked into the house, frowning a bit. "I mean, it's not like I didn't want to! I just, never had the time..." He looked around the old shack, sitting on the couch.
"So, all we do is think about where we want to go and just...go?"
"Well, it's not as easy as that." Kira said, rolling the watch in her hand, making sure to remember this conversation. "I have to focus a lot of energy into it and charge it up. It takes up a whole lot of my energy and then we just kinda...whoosh!" She made a motion like taking off.
"We whoosh? Whooshing sounds good. But why whoosh?"
"Well...it's like shadow travel! But, lots of lights! And-"
"Whooshing?"
"Whooshing!" She laughed, realizing how ridiculous she sounded. He laughed with her, smiling.
"So, how long should this take?"
"Not long, maybe a few hours.""A few hours?! The heck am I supposed to do till then!?"
"Well...we can talk. You know, like normal human beings?"
"We aren't exactly normal humans you know."
"True."
He sighed, standing up. "Listen, I'm gonna go for a walk. Call me when you're ready to go." She nodded as he walked out, calling after him "Hurry ba-!" She was cut off abruptly by the door shutting. She sighed, looking down at her hands, staring at the watch. She felt a tugging sensation at where her palm touched the watch, it pulling her energy. She closed her eyes, leaning back on the couch.
"Let's get this over-"

----------------

She awoke, surrounded by darkness. "-with."
It was a large room, completely black except for a dimly glowing golden light in the distance. She stood up, making her way towards the light. What could go wrong? She came closer, finding a fire place with two chairs in front of it, a man sitting in one with a book. 'To kill a mockingbird'.
"Hi dad..." She said simply to the second lord of the universe. He looked up from his book, a hollow man. Literally. Except for his dark clothing and black skin, he didn't exist. He was completely hollow, you could look inside his eyes at the rest of him. She always assumed it was from the disintegration.
"Daughter." He stated simply, looking back down at his book. She looked at the fire, the watch burning in the center of it. "You've been busy. Losing my things I see."
"Technically, it's mine. You gave it to me."
"To serve me with. Which you did not. I should take it back."
"But you haven't. Because you can't."
He growled angrily, not able to stand up. "Watch your tongue girl. I'm weak, but I'm not dead..."
"Sorry." She sat down, staring at him. "If you don't want me to have it, why do you always recharge it?"
"Perhaps I hope you'll one day be a good daughter and obey."
"Oh please."
"Watch your tongue or I will not fuel the watch."
"Lier."
"Disappointment."
"Terrible father."
"Worse daughter."
