Promise

Leo Valdez sat on the back of his dragon, his hand on his broad back, feeling the gears and circuits underneath, moving slightly with every wing beat. Festus roared and flew a bit faster. Er-not roared, more like creaked.
Leo’s awesome, beautiful, funny, 5,000 year old girlfriend, Calypso, sat behind him. Her small sturdy hands were on his waist, as she was afraid of falling off. As though she could read his mind, Calypso raised her voice above the wind, “Leo? Can we slow down a sec?”
Festus slowed down a bit, humming in frustration. Leo had rebuilt him with Calypso, eager to get back to his friends. Festus only had a completely fixed body for over a day now, or so Leo thought. Leo and Calypso got away from Ogygia then fixed Festus.
They had gotten pretty far, and Calypso was thrilled. Leo had kept his promise, he got her back. That was the oath he kept, after all. And, considering the actual, literal sand hadn’t killed him, Leo assumed that his fire did in fact keep the Earth in her slumber. Which was great.
FFF SHhhhhhh. FFFFF SHhhhhh. The roar of the wind and churn of the gears and warmth of Calypso’s hands were almost hypnotic for Leo. He noticed light pinks, oranges, and yellows spreading across the sky. It was time to land and set up camp.
Incredibly, Leo spotted sand below. “Looks like we'll have to stop.” Calypso peered down and nodded. Leo landed Festus relatively easily, considering how long it had been since he rode the dragon. Once he settled on the sand, Leo jumped off and helped Calypso down, though she didn’t need it.
They looked around, still a bit giddy. Instead of packing, they laid down in the sand and looked to the sky. Festus looked down at him, creaking. Leo was the only one who could understand him, but he decided to ignore the judgmental dragon. “Okay… Let’s unpack,” Leo stood and reached for a bag that had been strapped to Festus, “y’know, you can go look around. I know how long you've been waiting for this.”
Calypso smiled at him, but helped him unpack anyway. Tent, Sleeping bags, Lanterns, First Aid Boxes, Canteens. They unpacked most all and quickly set up, ready by the time the sun completely set. They sighed in unison, satisfied for the day. Leo lit the firewood, and pulled out some marshmallows they somehow got their hands on.
His playful eyes sparkled over the fire. He noticed Calypso’s hair glistening between the sunlight and fire light. Beautiful, he thought. Leo still couldn’t believe a girl liked him. Especially a girl as gorgeous as Calypso. Not to mention, she was really nice for the most part. She didn’t treat him like a scrawny weirdo like most girls do (other than Piper, Hazel, and Annabeth…)
This was the happiest he had been since his mom died. He was looking forward to Leo and Calypso’s Auto Repair. They talked and had a good time, eating toasted marshmallows. A few times, Leo accidentally ate one that was still on fire. They talked about Leo’s friends. Calypso couldn’t wait to meet them. Leo was glad she was so accepting.
So they chatted until their eyelids were heavy. The good thing about having a large, sentient, mechanical dragon was that he could stand guard while you had terrible (but normal) demigod dreams that rendered you nearly useless. Fun!
As soon as Leo lay next to Calypso, he plunged right in. First, he was in a large room, filled with chairs and tables. Ah- nope, it wasn’t just any large room. Leo looked in the window and saw that he was back at Camp Jupiter, in one of the shops. Strangely, he wasn’t just… where he needed to be.
So Leo escorted himself out. It was a normal day, a bit cloudy, but people walked around like normal. So he did the same. Maybe he’d find someone he needed to hear from? He walked around a bit, a little bored. Then he spotted Jason. Leo didn’t think he was seeing the present, but who knew?
Leo ran towards him, but stopped when he heard what he was saying. “Oh, shutup! You know that that plan is dumb, that sonuva-” He was interrupted when the person he was talking to smacked him. “I’m sorry,” Piper said, “but I can’t listen to you speak about someone like that. It hurts too much.” Jason laughed cruelly, like some evil-twin Jason. Piper set her jaw, and with all the power she could muster, she told Jason, “You will lay down and sleep. You won’t wake up until I tell you to.”
It was powerful charm speak, but it didn’t affect Leo. It certainly affected Jason, though as he immediately went to sleep. Piper collapsed at his side and sobbed, then tried to pick him up and walk away. Leo couldn’t believe what he saw. What was that? Why was Jason talking like that?
No one was around to help Piper, which was strange. Piper gave up, and called out to Frank. But before Leo got to see Frank, he fell into another dream. Now he was in - woah. He was in Cabin 9. Hephaestus's cabin. Leo looked at his half-kin. They were all silent. Leo immediately caught what was going on.
He felt his heart shine. They were mourning him. They cared that he had died (Or so they thought.) Leo instantly felt ready to get back. He could show off Festus, and the Archimedes sphere, and they could meet Calypso. The dream didn’t last long, which was lucky, because Leo was starting to miss them a lot.
Now Leo was in a workshop. Not his at Camp Half-Blood, the place was unfamiliar. He was standing in front of a car, facing the garage it had apparently driven through. He saw himself, Dream Leo, kneeling by the car. Calypso was next to him.
She had grease on her face, and looked pretty. Leo looked around some more. Completely alien, Leo thought. Suddenly, he heard a crash, and turned back to the garage entrance. It had slammed shut. Leo, or Dream Leo, stood up and grinned, about to make a joke.
He was cut off when Tia Callida appeared. Leo groaned. Of course, this just had to be one of his dreams. Hera had pretended to be Tia Callida, and Leo seriously disliked the Goddess for that. Dream Leo yelled something about Gaea maybe, and sent fire at her. Calypso was dangerously close, and Leo immediately knew that this wasn’t a glimpse of the future.
He would never throw flames so close to a friend, especially if they might have something flammable on them. The fire went around Tia Callida. Out of nowhere, Leo became Dream Leo. As in, he wasn’t in his original spot. He stood next to Calypso, and saw her terrified expression.
Leo went away from Calypso, to toss a fire ball at his enemy. He must’ve been to slow, though, as Tia Callida somehow struck him with a sword. He felt pain flare up on his shoulder. How is that possible?
She was so far away, but now she stood right in front of him. Leo lit his hole body on fire, something he never really tried before. (Other than when he died... but he died then.) He could feel things bubbling and melting around him. He watched the flames go from orange to blue to white. He heard Calypso scream from terror, then pain. Leo was sapping his own energy, being this hot (heh.) He was panicking. Was he hurting Calypso?
He couldn’t see, his own flames engulfing him, but not Tia Callida. She cackled like a witch, and he could then only see Calypso, nothing else, bleeding. Her skin blistered, and burned in some places. She screamed loudly, in agony. Leo sobbed, but he couldn’t stop the flames. He watched her burn. He smelled her flesh.
He sat up, and hit Calypso’s head with his own. “Ow!” Calypso called out, and Leo immediately stood up, looking around. No fire, thank Gods. “S-sorry…” Calypso studied him. He sat back down, then realized his cheeks were wet.
He wiped away the salty tears furiously. Calypso looked concerned. “Are you okay? What did you dream of?” Leo looked down, mad at himself. What was that dream? Why did he have to watch that? “Leo.” Calypso narrowed her eyes scarily. Leo breathed a shaky breath.
“I hurt you, in my dream.” Calypso smiled, and her eyes softened slightly. Leo went on, “We… we were in a auto shop. I saw someone from my past and attacked her. But, I couldn’t stop it and….” Leo couldn’t let himself finish it. That wasn’t a glimpse into the future, he knew that much.
But that meant he invented that. In his head. That’s it, he thought, I have actually snapped. I am insane. So he sat, trying not to cry more, under Calypso’s stare. She laughed, and Leo began to remember why what he was just thinking wasn’t true. “You are so silly. I’m fine. Look at us! We are going to open our store, but it won’t be like that.”
So they spent about an hour getting ready again. Somehow, they were maybe a two-to-three day flight to Camp Half-Blood, where Leo knew his friends were. So they went off, and Leo couldn’t help it thinking, Gods, I can finally let them meet Calypso and be done with it.

End Note: Sorry it was mostly dream. :3

Also, had to edit. Got some info wrong. My apologies.
